I agree with the run-in time. You need to get the oil up above 200 degrees so the water vapor will be expelled from the oil. This takes a lot more than 10 minutes. |

I had that happen and the light stayed on. Turned out to be one of the electric shock adjusters had malfunctioned. The ECU tests them after a prolonged shutoff. At least that's what Ferrari of SF told me. |

Letting the car sit in storage for the winter is fine, running for only ten minutes is not so good. You must run for about 25+ minutes to get the moisture out of the oil, exhaust, and then it really is best to drive and get all the systems up to operating conditions. IMO, letting the car sit for three months is no big deal, fill the gas tank, change the oil, over inflate the tires, wax, cover, trickle charge the battery or remove the battery, then wait for spring. If you're fastidious, invest in a car-coon environment bag. |

Mine does the same thing once every couple of months. As with yours, I re-start the car and it turns off. Tom |

The WSM stated: "If the key is turned on with or without starting the car, the ECU makes a time-out of about 1 minute, after which a situation of "speedometer signal lack" is detected; the ECU detects an anomaly and the warnig light switches on; when the speedometer signal is detected, the warnig light goes off." Mine does the same thing. As soon as the car moves, it goes off. |

I was home the other day and decided to start my 355 up in the garage and let it run as I did not have much of a chance to drive it with the weather being so bad in the east coast. I came back 10 minutes later to find the shock absorber light on my dash on. I turned the engine off and restarted it and the light went off. Does anyone have an opinion on this? Should I bring it back to the mechanic? I usually keep the shock setting on soft. 2nd Part) In the event that you are unable to drive your F- for a long period of time is it better to start it up and leave it in idle to warm up the engine and then turn it off, or not start it at all. I am talking about 2-3 week stretches of time. Thanks all! |
