I agree with you bruno. the days of dot com is over an you will not find many people willing to pay the premium any longer. |

I wouldnt pay it either. That doesnt mean someone who wants one this driving season and doesnt want to wait on list wont do it. It will be interesting to see if it sells and for how$. The economy is not improving and all Fcars sales could grind to a hault. Some models already have. |

Ferrari dealers can not charge a premium for customer-ordered cars. I was lucky. I only waited a little over 1 year for mine. |

Guys IMHO i could not justify paying $35K-$40K premium on a three year old car specially with today's economy |

i guess another factor here to consider is the wait factor. A lot of people want instant gratification. Spur of the minute buying. I have done it myself before. overpaying on a hot item to get it first and now. |

Bruno, the sticker on this car is only around $170K. why wouldn't you buy a new one. it i was offered an o3 spider for $170K , i will jump on it. i would not want to pay $205K for a three year old car. |

To make a long story short, importing and converting a grey market car from Europe is not that easy. Ferrari North America has been waging (and losing) a legal war for the last 3 years to try to stop the practice. It can still be done, but the total cost will likely be in excess of $20-$25k. You can still save money, of course, but don't forget that you'll have a tougher time selling it on the other end. Make sure to hook up with a reputable and experienced (and registered) importer/converter. vty, --Dennis

Just an idea: In Germany Ferrari sells all their cars much cheaper than in the States, no wonder that used and nearly new cars are also less expensive. For an overview just go to www.mobile.de, click on suchen (search) - the light grey button on top. On the next site just choose Ferrari in the upper left menu Marke (brand) and the model in the menu on the right. Start your search with Suche starten and youll find roundabout 200 F 360 i.e. To the next site you get by a click on weiter at the bottom of each site. The prices are in EURO, wich means its nearly the price in US $. A conversion from Europe to US standard is possible as far as I know, but Ive no idea about the costs. Shipping and Tax is also on top, but were talking about a + 80k difference. As I already said, just an idea.

You need to live a little, my new pinky (nugget) ring and gold chains felt weird at first too. Now, me and my "Mr. T" shields are stylin. Plus, all those people out there that cannot identify the car need a little extra help, the shields save from all the tiring questions about what kind of car it is. |

It's not the quality of the shields that I'm concerned about (I've seen enough of them). I just think they're tacky. Sorry, it's a personal preference thing. |

At first shields seem a little over the top but after you see'em up close, no other car has them, you only do it once. The quality is excellent. |

The rear challenge grill is good for extra air circulation. The spider's engine compartment is pretty tight so every bit will help cool it down. Plus, if you decide to buy it instead of option it with the car, it'll cost you triple from FNA. I don't like the shields on road cars (except for limited edition cars). Just a personal preference and I think they invite vandalism. |

I have yet to spec out my 360 spider. Is the challenge grill important for racing and I guess the shields are a personal taste. I'm not sure about shields. |

Dave, nobody is questioning the integrity of the seller. i personaly spoke to Jeff and found him to be very forthcoming. but the question here is if the car is worth $205K. if i was willing to spend $205K for a spider then i would definetly take Geoff's 02 with only 180 miles on it. it is just a much better value |

Geoff Germane is selling his 2002 360 Spider for $205, but he is willing to negotiate. It only has 180 miles. He posted it a few weeks ago on F-Chat if you want to take a look. |

Tom, you can pickup a 02 or an 03 for that price. one of the F-chat members had a 02 for sale with very minimal mileage for around 205K. I tried to make a deal with Jeff but the price is just too high. |
