I'd pay in the mid 40s for this car.

Hey Bret, this might answer your question.

At Ogner, we had two 308's just sitting in the back of the lot. They had been there for at least three years. One was blue with tan, and it had 70k. The other was red/tan, and I don't knowhow many miles it had, but it was a lot.

The dealer wanted to unload then for 2k EACH, but the owners wold never return their calls, so they coudln't sell them.

The owners felt that the cars were so worthless that they didn't even deserve a call-back to Ogner.

In addition, there was a 365GTB and a Pantera, colelcting dust as well.

If a F355 has 100k on it, what makes you think it would need a new or rebuilt engine and trans..

I thought they were bullet proof.. As long as it it maintianed properly the engine/trans should be fine

The car is probably not sellable, it sounds cute, but no one on this board is going to write any kind of check for a 100 miler, when it comes to check book time, who is going to pay for it? I believe the value might only be $25k when push comes to ink on paper. Sorry but miles do matter.

Not to get too off topic, but what do you guys think the prices become when 308s or 328s hit the 100k mile mark?

"So, you are in agreement that this car is right at 1/2 of its useful life (at 100K miles). It should be priced appropriately."

100,000 miles left means an approximate remaining lifespan 30-100 years, given the average yearly mileage of a Ferrari :-)

I wouldn't buy it expecting any resale value but obviously it would be a great daily driver.

"A modern Ferrari post mid 80s with Mahle pistons and Nikasil liners should hit 200k without major issues,"

So, you are in agreement that this car is right at 1/2 of its useful life (at 100K miles). It should be priced appropriately.

I look at it like this. The car will sell to some one (uniformed) or informed for not enough of a spread from what u can get one with 30k miles on it for.I would say 40k is the tops for it. We are not just talking engine here. Were talking 100k on every item on the car. And we all know how Ferrari likes to nickel (100$ and $1000) dime u to death.

duh - yeah, I wasn't thinking at all..I knew the f1's started in '98, and just missed the B designation - sorry, too much studying fries your brain.

It is cool to see a 355 with 100k miles on it, though - especially one that's still in good condition!

A modern Ferrari post mid 80s with Mahle pistons and Nikasil liners should hit 200k without major issues, I would expect a syncro or trans issue before a major engine failure except for a belt issue so a 100k Ferrari still has lots of life left in it provided its been well maintained

I'll bet their are many 100k mile Ferraris driving around with previously disconnected speedos with the owners oblivious to the real miles, its too easy to stop the miles from showing and it makes too much of a resale and $$ demand difference between a 30k car and a 70k car

I saw some pretty ratty looking TRs/Mondials and 355s this weekend getting serviced with <30k supposed miles at Ferrari of OC to believe this is not happening, now I am sure not all Ferraris have this done but who knows how many

I agree with you Henry that the informed (FerrariChat.com user) would only pay $50k (you can get a good rebuild for $25k). However, you never see the low end Ferraris go for what they should. Either people have too much faith or a dealer picks it up for a quick sale (ebay).

If the market for a low mileage pristine 355 is $75K, then the price of one with 100K miles on it would have to be less, by at least the cost of an engine and trans rebuild, etc. That would bring it to about $40K, at the most.

Rudy just paid $75k for a prestine 355 F1, I saw it in person. That's what I know the market is. I think Rudy got a good deal, but that should be the target from the buying side. If you want to put a $85-100k price tag on your 355 along with the dozens for sale in FML, then who knows how long you may wait.

Al LaPeter (Lapeter), you said 95 F355 worth max 70K, but I don't think that is the market value for F355.

I searched almost everywhere and most 95 F355Bs are selling between high 77K and high 80K. (ebay, dupontregistry, few ferrari dealerships, and some private dealerships)

by the way, I found this F355 in Ebay, low price with low miles.
http://www.stockpicktrader.com/f355b.html

p.s does anyone sells their F355 for 70K? (assume the car has less than 20K miles, and perfect condition with every document)

I think a low mile 1995 355B is worth max $70,000. With 100,000 miles I think $50,000 is closer to value.

I will pay for $60k assuming in top notch condition.

FYI for you Rudy, 355 comes in F1 option starting year 1998.

B stands for Berlinetta, so it is a coupe.

I agree with Rob - $55k-$60k sounds about right if it's in good shape.

$55-60k IMHO if leak down and compression is good. Glad to hear someone used it as a daily driver.

Couldn't be worth THAT much, chances are, you'd have to replace the engine and the drivetrain relatively soon... Probably less then 40k

How much is a 1995 355B with 100K miles worth? Assume that the car has full service history and is in very good condition.
