I remember about the same time (1- 1 1/2 months ago) this car was for sale the first time, there were all the parts that were missing off this car, for sale on Ebay! Anybody else remember 2 perfect red 355 doors, bumpers, etc.. etc... It was unbelievable. If this is not how it appears (insurance scam) it is an unbelievable coinidence, dont ya think?

run away. also sounds like self-strip job by owner in over his head. They shopuld checl owners garage and all storage lockers in the area. I bet engine blew and thats why he stripped it out. Gets next car and has parts out the wazo. alot of this went on after the run up in the late 80's.

I was suspicious because they didn't take the airbag. That is worth money. If I'm stripping a Ferrari, I'm taking the airbag.

When re-assembled, its probably only worth about 60k. If you can get the parts for less than 30k, including assembly, you might be able to break even. If on the other hand, you just wanted a late model 355, and you could spend 80k for one, this might make some sense, if you did your own own on the assembly. Otherwise, Martin is right on the value.

Rob, that was one of the reasons that the legitamacy of this auction was questioned... Someone else might know where the original thread is, there's a lot of input in it...

Doc-- someone posted this not too long ago; there was speculation as to whether this was legit or not... Let's ask Arlie's opinion, though- maybe he knows a "sub-standard" enthusiast that might be interested... :-)
