They did leak down, compression check, six page report and most importantly they did it the day after I called. The other two F dealers in the LA area quoted $1000 for the PPI and it would be at least two weeks to do it. I think LA rates are $125 an hour. I think for CA it was more than fair. |

I'm glad that you are happy with what you got, but $750 seems pretty expensive to me for a PPI. How much time was involved? What did they do that caused the price to be so high? Did they do a leakdown test or dyno the car? In NYC metro area, Ferrari dealer labor rates are about $90/ hour I think, so $750 would imply more than 8 hours spent inspecting the car. I was present when I had a PPI done in Newport Beach on my 400i and I recall that I was there about 3 hours. BTW, I would highly recommend being present while the tech goes over the car, it's a great way to learn about the car.

Al, I cannot agree with you more. Alan, Guseppi, Eric, Sandy and Ralp are the greatest. I was there on Wednesday to stop in and say hi and to check on some parts. M |

I just had a pre-purchase inspection done on a 1996 355 spider. It was done by the Auto Gallery in Woodland Hills, CA. I must say that Alan Johnson, Ferrari service manager and his staff were the greatest. They managed to get the car in the next day and finished that day. Including the compression check and entire report the cost was $750. If I lived in Southern California, I would use them for everything. I can't say enough good things about them. I called the other two Ferrari dealers in LA area and they couldn't schedule it for at least two weeks. If you need service in the LA area, you should try Alan Johnson at Auto Gallery. Also the report was perfect on the car and I am picking it up this Friday. A friend of mine also looked at the car for me. I have not seen the car in person, and I am buying it sight unseen. I know the car is perfect. After I pick up the car, I will follow-up on everything. |
