Yes, you're right...the F355 isn't as fast as the GT 2. But as I said...this guy didn't try to drive real slowly in traffic, we both accelerated 2 times from about 150 kph to 230...and only above the 200 he could manage to get some distance between me and the Porsche. However, the GT2 is much much faster than the 355. See it on video, will put it up soon. I think the cats and the exhaust do the 400 hp together, K&N filters also installed. I will put the car on the dyno as soon as I find out where I can do this down here. Oh and David...I even hit more than that. Did the 290 on the ride home from the dealer...I think this 355 is a bit faster than the 96. Don't know why. Ben, I'll definitely post pictures, sound and video of the car. Bought a new digital camera today, tomorrow I'll take pictures of both cars, the red and the black one. Hope the weather is fine. Yesterday I taped some video in an underground parking (right expression?? i know, my english is...), what a sound...I'll share it with you as soon as possible www.car-elite.com |

eh? I kissed 120mph (just about 190kph?) in my first ever drive of any F-car (In a mondial 3.2 cab Glad to hear you like the car Sebastian, you are living the dream, two times over now! Congratulations! How do you like the Fuchs/tubi-cat exhaust? Can you record the sound for us? (email to me and I can post it.) Best! Ben. Oh, a GT2 should probally leave a F355 for dead, or at least walk away, if driven properly... but we both know who will be having more FUN! |

Matt, I dont think either John or I are bashing the F355. In fact the F355 is my dream car! I love the looks of Ferraris much better then Porsches. But, you have to recognize that Porsches are fast cars, whether you like them or not! Why do people always come back with this argument about Turbo vs Normally Aspirated. Its just a different way of making HP. Remember Ferrari used airstuffers in their F40.

Just remember that Porsche needs an airstuffer to get that much hp out of a motor. Ferrari is good old fashioned - normally aspirated. Apples to oranges. |

Wow that's a surprise. I love the F355 but I didn't think it was that fast. I'll assume the F355 spyder and the GT2 are around the same weight (~3200 to 3300 lbs). But the GT2 has 462 HP and the F355 with those mods might have 400 HP (correct me if I'm wrong). But I wouldn't think an exhaust and cats would give much more than 15HP, and this is being optimistic. |

Hi F-Chat-Members, had my first ride in new Ferrari F 355 F1 Spider today...well, what can is say...Amazing Sound (really really amazing), better to drive than the 355 from 96, F1 is great - fast enough, reliable, easy...and she's so beautiful. Pictures will follow soon. Installed Tubi SportCats (100 cell), Fuchs Sport Exhaust, K&N-Filters, Lotec Rear Pipes. Oh...on the way home I met some Porsche GT2. Can't believe that this guy could only smoke me above the 200 km/h. I did not think that the F 355 is as fast as a GT2...btw, took some video of that, I will upload it soon www.car-elite.com |
