550 Barchetta's are a different breed.
I cannot answer the pricing question but I will say that the 550 BP will become a VERY VERY collectable car in the future. With only 448 there are over twice as many F40's out there....

I wasn't suggesting that you or the seller ask 160 for it; rather, that is where the market is on somewhat earlier, low mileage cars, and that, unless somebody has to have essentially a brand new one, they can buy the same car for a lot less than you will be asking. Based on your pricing, what's my barchetta worth?

Martin:
As someone who looked extensively at these cars earlier this year, your $205,000 seems reasonable-but only for someone who has to have what is essentially a new car! But I doubt very seriously that there's another 5,000-10,000 more.

I agree that $160,000 would be a ridiculously low price and that you could trade it to another dealer for a heck of a lot more than that.

Even with the drop in prices, I can't see letting that car go for less than $195-200,000.

The factory sticker on this car was $ 223,900.
We have listed the car now at $205,000 but I feel there is another $5,000 in it, maybe $10,000.

The car is immaculate. I will have some pictures on my website in a few days. The seats are still covered, the car is garaged and covered. He still has the plastic bag that all the extras came in for crying out loud!

Maranello prices have plummeted in the last year and a half;pristine, low mileage 99's are in the 160 neighborhood from dealers, so should generally be less than that. This seller may want more, because it is a newer car, and has little more than delivery miles, but frankly, i don't think it is worth the premium the seller is likely to want over a 99. (If you look at asking prices for this, per FML, you will see prices above 190). They are great cars, though, but i don't think we've seen them bottom out. (also, car is not at its best in red; i had one in that color combo, and like black, pozzi blue (harris imports lists what looks like a nice one; can't vouch for that dealer though), or silver. (FOA has one and asks 205 for a 99:- at that price they will have it until it becomes an antique).

I just came back from a client that has a 2001 550 Maranello with only 560 miles. Red/tan with all options from the factory except the carbon package.
red pining in the tan Daytona Leather seats, 3 piece rims, red calipers and so on.

What is a reasonable price for this car. The car is titled and luxury tax is paid!
