The spoiler itself is actually an option on the QV, but I have yet to see one without it.

I think 308's and 328's look better without the rear spoiler. Unfortunately, both my 308 and 328 have one. If you do have one, they look better body color. Recently I was talking to an 89 328 owner whose spoiler was painted at the factory. It was on his window sticker as an option app. 300. I think. Wish I had it. It is my understanding that all USA QV's and 328's have the spoiler. In Europe, it was an option. If you like to be different, leave it off.
Unfortunately, all cars from the late 70's to mid 80's had those ugly, battering ram bumpers. Those and the motorized seatbelts rate as two of the dumbest things auto makers ever had to do because of regulations. Unfortunately, painting them will probably reduce the value of the car. But buying another set and painting them will be money you never get back either. I would say if it's worth the cost to you, then do it.

James if there was ever a ugly spoiler it was the "Whale Tail" on the 911 Turbos.

Thanks guys for all your feedback. I have the euro bumpers thats why I was thinking of having them painted. As for the rear spoiler that comes on the US models, I still cant make up my mind. I have already purchase one and its just laying around gathering dust. Hmmm, reminds me of the porsche turbo tail I bought and changed my mind a few years back. Now the porsche is in someone elses garage and the tail is part of my living room decoration.

If you add a rear spoiler to the car, it'll look like one of those silly Honda Civics that look absolutely rediculous. I'm a purist. Leave the car the way Enzo intended it.

It just occurred to me that you were probably talking about that little spoiler thing seen on so many QV's.
And not the challenge type big spoiler that I was thinking of...
Sometimes I'm just so thick.

How often to you go over 130mph where a rear spoiler would be effective?

Would I paint the bumpers the same color as the car?
If I replaced them with a light weight Euro style bumpers, as the front has been done on my 308, then yes...
Just save the original bumper for the next owner.
Your 308 is a euro model, does it have U.S. bumpers or Euro?

Leave it original.

Easier to resell.

I hate the spoiler and anyone else would too if you change the front spark plugs.

James, that depend on how you like to see your car. If you want it original, don't do a think.
If you prefer to see it with add ons, personalized painting, 18" wheels ...just do it.
I personnaly perfer the cars in their original condition.

James first of all let me say I'm a purist. But some of the guys have modified their cars and they look great. Should you add a spoiler? My opinion ,No, they look like add ons. Hold on for a short time because Nick Scianna is developing a Euro look bumper to replace the one on your car. And yes if you install it I would paint it the color of the car.

Want your honest opinion. The car, an 84 Euro 308GTS
1. Would you add on a rear spoiler
2. Would you have the rear spoiler painted the same color as the car.
3. Would you have the bumpers painted the same color as the car.
Someone posted a picture of their silver 308 earlier and his bumper was painted the same color as his the rest of his car and I thought it looked pretty good so what do you all think? The 328's have their bumpers the same color as the car.
