I've seen the color before, and it looks good, but IMO seems more like a 550 color... refined. Also, like most "posterized pictures" the blue color shown is not really representative of real life... here's some examples I found on the internet of TDF blue. --- John

Car looks absolutely STUNNING in both colour combos (even the striped red is done quite tastefully.) TDF blue is just jaw-droping, words-defying.... YEAH! Is it really that deep and irridescent and blue and bright and indigo in person? 2500lbs and 425bhp?! YES! YES!!! OH GOD YES!!! Best! Ben. |

The Stradale might be THE car to get in the 360 series. About 2500 pounds and more power? I could live with that! |

From autoweek.com: Ferrari unveils Challenge Stradale; third 360 variant to debut at Geneva Motor Show Ferraris latest street-legal race car is the Challenge Stradale, set to debut at the Geneva Auto Show in early March. The latest product to come out of Maranello promises to pack a punch as the logical progression in the series that includes the 360 Modena and the drop-top Spider. Challenge Stradale is essentially a 360 Challenge with all the comfort and safety features of a Modena, so it can be raced as is if desired. Challenge Stradale boasts the same 40-valve 3.6-liter V-8 engine, complete with high-tech features such as titanium connecting rods, that produces 400-hp at 8500 rpm and 275 lb-ft of torque at 4750 in the Modena. But the Challenge Stradale gets an edge via an even lighter and more aerodynamic aluminum body and chassis. Modena weighs in at 3,064 pounds, while the Challenge Stradale tips the scales at just 2,578 pounds. At that weight, Stradale is just a touch heavier than the track version and aims to approach the latters sub-4.0-second zero to 60 mph time. Challenge Stradale completes the package with an F1-style gearbox, enhanced braking performance, and is painted in Rosso Scuderia, the same racing red adorning Ferraris F1 cars. According to reports coming from Maranello, base retail price of the Stradale will start at around $182,000, or roughly 20 percent more than the 360 Modena F1s $151,000. The Stradale is not intended to be a limited edition but will remain available as a third 360 variation until the new 360 debuts in early 2005. |

Very Nice... I wonder how much it would cost to retrofit some of the bits and pieces?

ELI, it is indeed TDF Blue. From the owners website: What we really wanted to do with the Challenge Stradale was move even closer to a strictly racing set-up taking our lead from one particular car, the 360 Modena, which already had strong sports connotations in terms of its build characteristics. I am referring in particular to weight reduction, one of the main distinguishing characteristics of racing cars. The all-aluminium structure (chassis and bodywork) of the 360 Modena (launched in 99 and already particularly light) represented the real challenge to the project. Trimming another 110 kg off the dry weight to bring it down to 1,180 kg was a source of great satisfaction in itself. In keeping with our wish to offer customers a car that continues the great Ferrari tradition by maintaining the close rapport between GT and racing, the interior of the Challenge Stradale has the feel of a real racer in its the seats, dashboard and the controls for the driver settings in the tunnel, not forgetting the F1 gearbox specifically designed for this coup. This, of course, gives our clients the chance to experience at firsthand the racing technology that Ferrari now offers. The transfer of know-how from the racing world (specifically the 360 Challenge and the 360 GT) can be clearly seen in the new cars aerodynamics and the carbon-ceramic brakes already fitted to the Enzo Ferrari. The engine, for its part, punches out 25bhp (for a total of 425 bhp at 8,500 rpm) more than the 360 Modena, making it the most powerful 8-cylinder to come out of Maranello yet at 118.5 bhp/litre. The colour of the presentation car will be Rosso Scuderia, just like the Formula 1 single-seaters - the first time this option has been offered in the Ferrari production range. It will also be possible to order the tricolour livery that mirrors the paintwork of the official Ferrari Client Racers of the past. To emphasise the Challenge Stradales dual sporty yet highly sophisticated personality, the colour of the second car at Geneva will be Tour de France blue, which is more suited to a classic road model. |

The Stradale, Lambo Gallardo, Zonda Roadster and a bunch of other cars were unveiled today at the Geneva Show. Stradale specs are on the owners website (www.owners.ferrari.com). Photos courtesy Autoweek - http://autoweek.com/specials/2003_geneva/ The Stradale looks beautiful and purposeful IMHO! The Gallardo looks like a smaller version of the Murcielago in the same distinctive Lambo style.
