Would really like to know what is going on. As a Maserati Club, and Ferrari Club member, I was planning on driving both cars out to CI this August.
Inquiring minds want to know!!!

It is a shame. Concorso Italiano is flat out the best Italian car event in the country.

Why did the the CI leave Quail Lodge ? that was a cool place

If the FCA annual is at Laguna in 2004 I'll send my 512TR race car out :-)

William,
More than that, at the 84 and 94 events (hopefully 04 too) Ferrari was the honored marque at both the historic races (Laguna Seca) and the Concours at Pebble. It is claimed those 2 events attracted more F cars than any other event, ever.

I thought the move from Quail Lodge was only temporary.

William -

In 1984 and 1994 (and again in 2004) the FCA annual meet was held in Monterey, CA during the historics weekend, not necessarily associated with the "Concorso Italiano".

For hose who haven't heard, CI is no longer at Quail Lodge, where it had been for many years (maybe since inception?). The new location, Blackhorse Golf course, is supposed to be a great place, however it's apparently not in a great "area", this is from those who reside in the Monterey area.

Tino, isn't that what's going to happen in 2004?

Well, there better still be a lot of cars (i.e. Ferraris) and enthusiasm as in the past couple years I've been, or I won't be happy.
What does this mean for the CI? Will there be any big changes as a result? I am concerned.

Someone (FCA ?, FOC ?) should pick up the ball and run with it. Judging by what F cars mean to Monterey in August and what 1984 and 1994 proved, any Ferrari-only event on that Friday would give CI deadly competition.

I don't know where I heard it from, but something about the car clubs not being thrilled with the CI take of the cut? I'm probably wrong, but something like that rings a bell.

Just was registering for Concorso Itailano (http://www.concorso.com/2003/CI2003features.asp) this August in Monterey, and noticed that there appears to not be an FCA-sanctioned Concours at the event this year. Anybody have the inside dirt on this?
