John,

strange place, New Orleans. Very strange place.
Enjoyed the City, did tours and plantations and a lot of walking.
There is great real estate potential in the French Quarter. Lots of $$$ to be made.

Congrats Martin...glad you finally found a replacement. Wow, a 355 Spider...sounds like you picked a nice one...can't wait to see the pics!

Quick question: is it true that the Euro cars are nearly impossible to either finance and/or insure? I keep hearing this undertoe about the subject, but no facts yet. Just curious.

Weather is absolutely beautiful today up here in North FL...sun shine and not a cloud in the sky...so it must be heading your direction. In fact, it's already time to mow the lawn tonight.

My frist drive on Thursday was to rescue a dying cat for our charity. got the call 5:50pm and had to rush there. Put the cat in a carrier and that cat became the first passenger.
Unfortunately for the poor baby it was a one-way ticket. Head trauma, possibly hit by a passing car.

On the way I must say I was not overly impressed. It is a ncie car nd has more power without a doubt. The overall I had hoped for more though. Maybe my 348 was just very strong and free flow and this 355 is not all broken in yet.

The 6 speed is giving me a hard time. I always want to start in 2nd and reverse in 1st. Imagine the sight you sit in the car lean back and hit the accellerator in first. :-)

This morning after comping from the airport I jumped in the car and wanted to start and NOTHING!
After calls to the meachnic and trying to jump the car and all kinds of things, turns out it was the theft protection that all EURO cars must have since a few years. I forgot to disarm the theft device. Looked pretty stupid.

I will post pictures as soon as the sky clears. Pretty cloudy today.

Dammit Martin! you got exactly what I wanted especially after I sold my 348, I know you're psyched. I'm looking for a 99 355F1 spyder either in red with blk int, silver with blk interior or possibly a blue on blue or blk with blk.

Martin,
Congrats on the car... funny, I echo the same thoughts as everyone else here... hard to imagine you in a F355... the 348 is you, man.

Fred, it's in his blood...we're not losing a 348 expert, just gaining a future F355 expert as well.

Happy trails.

Congrats Martin!!!

Strange to think of Martin in anything but a 348........Hopefully we won't loose our 348 expert to the 355.

Pics, pics, pics, pics..............

Jim,

took me 3 years to change the 348 and my eyes were teary when I did. The 348 was groing stronger and stronger. I still have the feeling that the 348 was faster than this one.
Also takes time to get used to the power steering. very strange feeling.

Rick,
call me when you come in or before and we will get together. I am a few minutes north of SoBe. My house is just off A1A on 89 Street and the Bay. I got to work on the garage this next weekend. My wifes birthday is on the 16th, so the 15th will be hard labor.

Pictures on Moday.
Gotta go to the airport now.

It took me 4 days without officially having a daily driver. 4 hard days. Not easy you may say, and you are right.

She is a red over black 355 Spider, 1998 model with only 4,211 Miles, Tubi, books, records, cover etc and she is a EURO with proper greencard to stay in the US forever :-)

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mike for his effort and contact. Thanks, who says Ferrari dealers are not cool.
Also many thanks to all of you with tips on where to find F-cars. I am somewhat sorry I missed that 1995 silver over navy Spider up in CT. But then I bought this beauty with less and younger (...who would not want that in a daily partner :-)) for basically the same.

Photos when I get back from New Orleans monday.

Hey Rob, so how do I change my user name without losing my posts. I am close to 4000, don't want to lose them.
