Tyler cant say enough about em! Hope you have fun. Here is my girlfriends new one. We bought them the same day. She has the more classic look with the optional 16in wheel and run flat tires. Got the checker board roof. Very fun look. Shes dangerous too cause she is a bigger car hound than me :-)02 mini red

Chris, that's kind of dissapointing. Not about the ford, but about your clients. I understand the reasons for the truck, but you had said in an earlier thread that your company specializes in retirement planning. I guess I would WANT the guy who does my retirement planning to be driving a damn nice car, or preferably a fleet of damn nice cars. I would be suspect if the opposite were the case. I understand the problem though, my clients react differently when I drive nicer cars than they do.

Funny you say that Chris. My used to have some wild Corvettes, then always had Cadillacs and some sort of a toe vehicle (K5 Blazer, etc). Oneday he decides he should get a pickup truck so he gets a Chevy Silverado, needless to say he's had three now (the new ones are really cool, even I'll admit it) and I can't get him out of the thing. I keep dancing thoughts of Corvettes again or maybe a Cobra. He seems to be biting on the Cobra idea which would be nice. But obviously have his truck still. It's so relaxing driving that thing, and you can put anything in it (308 engine for instance).

Well lets see how many people will think I am crazy. I just got rid of my 2001 CLK55 AMG as my daily driver and bought a 2002 Ford F150 Supercrew pickup. Hey, the CLK was fast, but I am more comforatable driving a pickup, (who cares if it rains) and my clients don't complain about a Ford!

Luigi, you guys do have to pay alot for gas. When i was in italy visiting relatives it costed us ~$40 to fill up a tank in a Seat, the tank couldnt haev been more than 15 gallons. I guess i should stop complaining about paying $1.50 a gallon for regular.

Tim, they are pretty rare in Europe, also because they are thirsty as hell! And fuel costs a lot more here than in the US.
There is almost no market for this car, I will have to trade it in for the Cooper S and also add some money on the deal!!!

Magoo, I drive at least 2 of them everyday.
If weather changes I take the other 2.
In summer, I drive 2 + a classic one during a week.(Picking up a new one everyweek)
So that you understand, I live in a beautiful luxurious private village near the beach with very good clean roads and my businnesses are in here too. So, I come home 4/5 times a day and change car.

I see; so the Rolls is the cat (doesn't like water) and the Bentley is the dog (plays in anything). Being just a Honda person I was thinking having two such wonderful luxury cars may have a more esoteric background. You must love that Rolls because I would think the Bentley would be much more fun to drive in wet and dry both.

Ken (Allyn), because you are so interested to know, here it goes.
The Rolls - when the sun is shinning and roads are dry(a lot of times the sun is shinning and it rains simultaneously)
The Bentley - when it is raining
Did I satisfy your curiosity?

Daily driver during winter is an Audi S6 Avant.
Since I live between Milan and Switzerland.
During the other seasons I alternate my 996 GT2 with the Audi and Merc S55 AMG.
A Mini Cooper S is arriving in June for the traffic packed Milan outings. The Grand Cherokee 5.9 LX will have to go for the Mini.

Usual daily driver: '94 Saturn SL

I broke my hip Feb 17 in a bicycling accident and have been told to stay away from manual transmissions while I heal. Had to borrow my parents' minivan since the Saturn and 308 are sticks. Oh the humility.

Tim N: i am pretty amazed by the big BMW in short wheelbase, "sport" guise. I stayed away from BMW's for years, partly 'cause everybody had one, and it seemed more about prestige (in westchester,as elsewhere, it was the 90's equivalent of the caddys and lincolns that all the squares drove when i was younger) than performance, at least judging by the majority of people that drove them. We bought the car in a sort of panic, because the mercedes we had ordered had a big software glitch, and there was nothing else at the time that appealed ( i like the big MB coupes, but frankly am not a big fan of the "S.") The thing is speed limited, but as far as it goes, it is a blast to drive, and it is surprising given its size and weight. Also, while 288hp or whatever seems underpowered, the car is surprisingly quick (may have something to do with how it is geared). The front seats are also amazing, both comfortable and extremely good bracing, if adjusted properly. Very few complaints if you need a full sized sedan.

My work and run around town car is an Acura Integra, good gas milage for a peppy lil car. It's pretty fast too had it up to 125mph briefly and then slowed down cause the tires weren't rated that high.

The family vehical is a Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 4x4. It is a great truck and it gets used for what it was built for. I have had it to the snow and out doing some 4x4 driving. Can that thing climb, you bet. People look at me like I'm crazy when I'm 4x4 in it, but let me tell you that truck is tough, very well built. I got it stuck once, during one of my off road play times, on a beam the engineers put across the bottom to protect the transfer case. That thing was supporting the entire weight of the truck and did not bend! Very happy I bought it. Great Family vehical, load up the kids and go.

The "What a Beautiful Day" car is my 348ts. I love driving that car on sunny Southern California days, or on days when I just feel like crusing around and enjoy life. The Ferrari also gets used on the nights my wife and I get to go out with no kids, lol. Ah Yes and the ever popular "In Your Face!" days. Hehehee:

Pair of cheap Sunglasses = $15

Set of Z rated tires = $1,150

30K mile major tune up = $4,500

Pulling up in my Ferrari, with me and my smart ass smile behind the wheel, at a friends house that said "Yeah Right Dream On" = PRICELE$$

A dream taken seriously is a goal. With GOD's help anything is posible.

I drive my Accord to the train station, the Odyssey when I'm doing the 'soccer mom' thing and the Lotus Europa all the time except if the roads are wet or it's supposed to rain. I know it's not a sugar cube but I believe one reason my 30 year old Lucas Prince Of Darkness Special is so reliable is because it never gets wet.

Damn that sucks. I parked the 308 at UConn for a night when visiting my good friend that goes there. Fairfield seems to be more of a rich kid school and I think you get more of that let's do something stupid. When I bring the 308 up here I do make sure where I park it, which is why I don't park it where the jeep goes.

I rotate my cars on a daily basis between E320, ML55, Cl600, and on weekends the Ferrari. I would like to get a 360 Spyder in silver but don't want to pay the outrageous markup or have to wait years so a Diablo roadster may be next in line for alternative weekend drives. I have to park half my cars at my shop garage so none of them have to be parked outside.

Kenny, I don't really like the looks of the S-type.

Tim, I have driven the E55, nice car, but overkill for what I need out of a daily driver.

I've got a client with an Arnage Red label and I love it. The XJR comes the closest I've found to duplicating that car at a huge discount. Interestingly the same gentleman used to be big into Ferrari's. He now is into heavy blown british steel. I'll have to ask him why his love affair with Ferrari ended...wait a minute, I don't care.

That is true. Love that Lotus. I just ordered a the race chip from lotus direct that will increase my horsepower to 450. Cannot wait to see how this car will go then. I thought the car was fast now. Cannot wait

Which one? To the TR it's alot more nimble and would outhandle and outbrake it. But the power and the sound of TR is untouchable. Compared to the 355 it is very similar except again in the power department.

WHart, how sporty is the 740i sport. They are big cars, but i heard they really did a good job hiding the weight. Whenever i see one on the road i usually yeild to it bc i know the owner likes to drive!

Honestly, the NSX. Great car, I was very surprised. I could actually see why this car forced Ferrari to make the 355. A liitle low on power though, but nothing a little tweeking cannot take care of.

For everyday driving I have an NSX and Mercedes sl500. But I do use the Ferraris just about every other day. In the last couple of years I have traveled a combined 25,000 problem free miles on my f-cars.

I would be kind of nervous parking it on the street over night for too much time, especaily with drunk college kids walking around. I would put pillows under the car cover to make it look like something else.

1992 Nissan Sentra SE-R;Great car. But it is being replaced in two weeks with an new M3. I'll then use the Sentra for non-Ferrari track days and learn to race with it (its disposable). Cant get nearly as excited about the M3 as I did with my 328, even though the M3 will blow its doors off.

Yeah I do, I park the Jeep at a lot right below my building, you have to buy a spot there if you are less than a junior and bring a car up.

The Ferrari though I parked illegally at these apartments sometimes, right near my building, but kind of secluded from the drunks, etc. And other nights I parked over at my friend's apartment, but like a 10 min walk so I didnt do that too much. UConn is a pain with parking, or the lack thereof. A lot of my friend's colleges when I visited them I could park it right near the building, etc no problems.

I took my F car to work 3 days last week, and drive it as much as I can. If not that, then it's a 95 Jag XJ6. I may upgrade to an XJR in the next 12 mos, but I've really loved the Jag. It's comfortable as hell, and I don't always NEED to go fast.

When I was living at home (senior year high school) still, I drove the 308 just about everyday unless it was snowing. Over the summer I'll be driving it a lot more than anything else.

Up at school I have the Jeep almost all the time (took Fcar up a couple weeks in beginning). It's a 1988 Wrangler, 4.2L inline 6 with a Weber 2 barrel carb, BF Mud Terrain tires, Congo Cage rack on top, pretty diesel Jeep.

I recently bought a 96 volvo 850 wagon with 13 k from a little ole lady .... Anyways if you dont like the acceleration of your Ferrari, i highly recomend it as your F-car will suddenly seem like a rocket ship! Otherwise i drive a 02 Acura TL which is a great car for under 30k.

If you believe the magazine test the BMW e39 M5 will outrun all production Ferraris from 0-60mph up to the 360/550 models. But, on the track the M5 is heavy and can't keep up in the twisties with even a 348 or 355. I believe the M5 will still take the older 308/328 models even on the track. The M5 is a great car and suits me well as a daily driver and family sedan plus the occasional track day. That being said, it is still not a Ferrari as far as the "smiles per mile" factor goes.

My Ferrari is new enough to me that I have only driven it to work a few times (nice weather, of course). My daily driver is a '97 M3, or in really crudy weather a '97 Chrysler AWD minivan.

I do use my Ferrari to run errands. Picked up one very well cleaned and double bagged supply of organic compost today--my biggest issue is having somewhere to park it that seems reasonable safe and free from door ding possibility.

Speaking only for myself, I think BMW M's offer a degree of driver involvement and feel that is close to that of Ferraris. Mercedes AMG's, as one comparision, by mostly offering only automatic trannies and different suspension tuning seem somewhat more disconnected than BMW M's (though they are great cars).

my daily driver is a 996TT unless the weather is snow/ice in which case i drag the Jeep out.

my daily driver used to be an M5 which i swapped for the 996TT when i realized i never needed that kind of people/stuff haulage capability in my daily driver (that's what the jeep is for).

the M5 is a really great vehicle. very very impressive. what a monster. buddy of mine has a new M3. another buddy has a last-gen M3.

imo, it's an apples-and-oranges comparison of the M cars to p-cars or f-cars. they are sedans and coupes, not sports cars or gt cars really.

doody.

My daily is a '96 C280. Amazing 0-60 and passing speeds for such a small inline-6. I like Willis try to get my 308QV out at least 2-3 times per week...however, only when the weather is good.

One of these days, I'd love to get a Mondial-T as my daily driver.

My 360 takes me to work every day its not raining. I take my family sedan (98 M3 modified for the track) on rain days. Unless hail is a possibility... then I take the extended-family-carrying van (12-passenger).

If you are looking at the E430 sport, you might as well give the E55 a look. The ride will be a little stiffer and so will the seats, but you might like it.

I drive the Mondial everyday to run my kids back and forth from school. Echoing Willis' comments, the kids at school love the car according to the teacher. Sun, rain and snow. Exceptions is when I need to pick things up...then its a truck.

When going shopping, need to haul stuff, or look around without attention, I use a Nissan Maxima SE. I make it a point to drive my 360 at least 3 times a week even in the winter.

It's an amazing difference in how I'm treated when people see me pull up in the Ferrari or the Nissan. Sad but true, people still judge you by what you drive.
