Thanks for the kind words Al, it was good doing biz with you too, and I'm sure we'll meet again soon.
Also have '99 355 F1 Spi, and '98 F1 B I'd like to clear out of the garage too.

Congragulations on your new toy Al. Enjoy it - drive the crap out of it - and you couldn't have picked a better model with which to reacquaint yourself with Ferraris.

Enjoy :-)

That's a great stretch of highway... as long as you don't get stuck behind some guy in a motorhome doing 25mph.

One of the most beautiful drives I've ever been on, SFO to Big Sur. In a 355? I'm about to faint.

Quick post. We are in SFO. My son drove it fast on Highway One from San Lui to Big Sur. Priceless. Going to dinner and 360 race on Sunday. See ya.

Congrats Al

Welcome back to Ferrari ownership. How long do you plan on keeping it this time, I hope for good. Oh and another thing, good job letting your son drive it. You just went waaaaaay up the ladder with that. I bet he will talk about it for the rest of his life.

Al: Glad to hear the GOOD news. Letting your son drive it was very nice of you.......you WILL be rewarded by him, for years to come.

My nephew still recalls the day, 15 years ago, when I drove with him to a huge parking lot, and just let him drive my 246 Dino, at the time. He never drove a stick shift. He was only 16. And he STILL thanks me for it!!!!!! Needless to say, we are VERY close.

He now has his own sports car.....a TVR Griffith! Some day he will have his own Ferrari.

This one won't be a garage queen!!! Cars like this have to be driven. I'll check in after 1000 miles more on this baby.

I just picked up the 1996 spider last night in Malibu, CA and we (son and I) drove to my brothers home in Orange County. Sat Am we drive up Highway 1 to SFO and to 360 race on Sunday, then on to Sun Valley, Idaho. I don't have time or space to say everything. What an unbelieveable car. Couple of highlights- going south from Malibu on Coast Highway and going through the tunnel at 8000 RPM- a sound that is something. I let my 22 year old son drive it first. The look on his face- PRICELESS!!!
What a masterpiece and it is perfect. I don't think it was in better condition in 1996. It's been 15 years since I owned a F car. Whoever told me that it was 1000 times more fun than my Porsche was conservative. I could go on for hours- it was love at first sight. The road trip is on Sat morning and I can hardly wait. I just ordered my personalized plate "My Goal" and it seems appropriate. Only down side to first part of the trip was after ten minutes my wet pants got cold. Life just doesn't get any better. I will report when I get to Sun Valley, Idaho. I'm now a F member.
PS: I bought the car from a person on this board- Michael Klein- He is an absolute gentleman and a pleasure to do business with him. He is the greatest in my book. Thanks for everything Mike- you're the best.
Al LaPeter
