Aftermarket Ferrari badeges, i.e. stickers, magnets look horrible on a Ferrari. Why in the world would anyone actually put a sticker/magnet on their Ferrari. This is one that I will never get. If your that hard up for fender badeges then order a new car with them from the factory.

If the car has enamel badges, there will be an indent in the fender. It isn't just a simple and inexpensive addition if you want it done right. So in a sense, just throwing stickers on might be the best way to go.

It gets kind of silly if you want to remove the entire side body panels just so you can have some shields. To be honest, some cars look better without them.

Nick, The magnetic shields are flexible and for the most part lack the luster of the enamel. The enamal shields are painted on metal and become a permanent piece on the car.

I think the SF Shields look great. I'd put the 'real' enamel ones on any recent F-car, but magnetics are fine for other 'non-fcars' that may have differently curved fenders.

Saw a nice black 750iL with SF shields on the fenders a while back, could immediately tell whoever drove it was very cool and highly sexy :-)

Best!
Ben.

Ryan, hats off to you for having a sense of humor!! How the hell did you get that cop to move? (I'm computer illiterate).
Ken, I guess what I was saying is similar to your comment; the decals used to be on racing cars only. The badges seem to be another way for Ferrari to get customers to part with an extra thou or so!! I've gotta tell you though, a nice red/black 355B, red calipers; the decals sure set off the colors nicely!! Don't have them on my Blu Nart 550, even though I was tempted!

"Ryan, why the disgust over someone's decision to use the stickers?"

The Scuderia shield comes from the RACE cars. Back before the rocks cooled, many cars were both driven on the street and raced, thus you saw some older cars with shields on the street.

Only recently are shields a factory option on street machinery; some of us find shields on street cars a bit over the top but what the hell - if it makes you happy paint FERRARI on the side in 12 inch letters.

Me, I'll stick to my Mattel Ferrari Barbie collection in the rear window...

EFWUN - I really could care less what any owner does with their cars, to each is his own, but to say I was surprised was an understatement. If the owner could afford a 355, he could shell out the $$ for at least a MAGNETIC shield or for heavensakes leave it alone. How the hell do you get that off? Thumbs down.

Ryan, why the disgust over someone's decision to use the stickers? Do you think the SF decals on the earlier race cars (e.g., 250TR, or SWB) are in poor taste? If you're gonna put SF on a road car, why must it be an enamel badge that seems to have been introduced as a marketing ploy in the recent past? Is that the only "proper" expression of enthusiasm?

Most dealers also sell "packs" of 5 or 6 different sized and shaped logo's and shields. I believe they were around 16$ CAN.

DES, all I did was by the SF shield stickers at any F-car dealer, bought the magnet sheets at any crafts store and applied the stickers to the magnet sheets. I then cut around them to have my own shields. They've never come off, even at 100mph. Very inexpensive solution...

Des,

You dont need to take the enamel emblems at first. For a normal car they are really too expensive.
Dont really understand your fears about going to an official dealer and ask for stickers!
They always have several different of them in their stock and they ceraintly dont only sell them to Ferrari owners. Here in Germany you can just buy very normal ones (Plastic stickers with or without a solid plastic cover!) for around 3-5 Euros which is around 3-5 US$. Off course these stickers are one way things which cant be put on or off like magnetic ones, but hey who cares?
I have two of these on my 348 and dont think they look cheap on the car.
Magnetic ones could be stolen very fast if you let your car standing outside so why take the risk?

Con saluti cordialissimi,

DES, exactly as L.Wayne described. It works well, it will stick on the car, fridge, wherever. If you want total confidence that they'll stick, perhaps just stick it using the adhesive without magnets. But then obviously you cant take em off and on. I've put em on my Suburban and drove around with them on a couple times. Kinda fun I guess.
Not sure how the dealer will respond, though I would doubt that you'd have to have a Ferrari to ask them for a part. Maybe call and order from their parts dept, then go and pick it up.

Eric, thanks for the reply, but

i'm not sure i understand... Did you put them on your car...? i'm confused...

Also, will a dealer help me out even though i don't own a Ferrari...? i'm gonna try to get over to F of LI tomorrow morning to see the Enzo, but last time i was there, they didn't come across as friendly as i anticipated... Could be they saw through the whole young bullsh!t kid thing, but i'm not sure...

DES,
Not sure about the magnetic stickers the guys are talking about here, actually didn't know purely magnetic ones exist.
As for stickers, it sounds like these guys are talking about the resin stickers, which are actually of great quality. I'm sure if you call a dealer they can get them for you, and they'll probably be in stock, and I doubt they're too costly.
A while back, I was picking up parts from a dealer over here and he threw in a pair of the stickers for me. Theyre full size, thick resin stickers, almost looks like a clear coat over it. What I did, which was suggested by someone on the board, was find the thin magnetic sheets (the kind advertisers use to put calendars on etc.) stick them on the sheets and cut away the excess. It actually worked quite well, and I just stick em everywhere.
Maybe check parts sellers online if you don't want to go to the dealer, but I find it's easier to trust the dealer than some guy behind a web address. Maybe Sodacoms has got some though.
Good Luck

Pete, how much is the ride with the Playmate...? is it the same price if i opt for the ride without the playmate and drive the car, myself...? :-)

Also, any idea on how easy it is for people to just walk by and remove the stickers...?

Aaron, put what on a tool box...? Buy the real ones and put THOSE on a tool box or buy the magnetic ones and put them on a tool box...? Defnitely not... LOL, i don't even own a tool box...! i'd really like to put the magnetic ones on my car, even if some might find it tacky...

Lastly, Dave, if you're looking, my first choice would be to purchase these magnetic shields from a FerrariChat sponsor... Anything from our sponsors on something like this...?

Peter, thanks for the help, i appreciate it... i'd like to try to support our sponsors, but if they don't have anything, i'll definitely hit you with an email; thanks again... :-)

They are supposed to stay on through thick and thin. I know a bunch of guys who have them and have never had a problem.
As far as someone coming by and peeling them off.....Well, I think if someone is going to do that they will probably take a key to the door also. Vandalism is vandalism. Most people won't touch your car.
And like Aaron said, if you don't like them on the car, they can always go on the fridge.

OK, I just looked on EBay for you and couldn't find the magnetic fender shields. When I was looking for mine last month there was like 4 different people selling them. Keep checking it. If you want, I can write to the guy I got mine from and see if he has any more. Drop me an email if you want me to do this (address in profile).
While I was searching EBay I did see where you can bid on the opportunity to ride around LA in a F355 with Playmate Victoria Fuller. Hmmm.

Someone mentioned here that pretty much anyone can purchase Scuderia shields for their car... While i think it'd be cool, i'm not sure i can justify buying these things, then having someone put them on the car- especially a car i probably won't have forever... However, i wouldn't mind putting Scuderia stickers on the car- i'm sure they'd be cheaper and i could probably apply them, myself... Anyone know where i could get some...? Do they even make them...? Thanks... :-)
