Ken I took my 348 to the funeral of a friend of mine's father. My friend was please to see the car there. When you go to the funeral don't you dress the best to show respect for the loss of the loved one? I don't know of any more repect that you can show than to drive the very best to honor the death of someone. Besides wouldn't you want a Ferrari driving in your funeral, I know I do. |

Had the same dilema last Fall. Was going to show up to a funeral in my 400. Changed my mind and took my expedition. How much non showy could I have gotten. And at the time I was driving the 400 everyday everywhere so i could have easily justified it but NO. |

My first thoughts would generally in-line with everyone else's opinion of your situation. But after a couple of moments I thought of the deceased. Now if it were me layin' there I'd say bring it. The more F-Cars the better, but that's me. If the car isn't involved in any past memories or maybe future goals or passions for the departed then I would leave it at home. Just a thought. Jay |

Funerals are off limits, why not invite them back for a short ride after, if everything is O.K? Ryan |

Ken, My condolences on your loss. After the funeral you can always mention in conversation to your relatives that you have something big, red and Italian sitting in the garage at home. I am sure you will see a lot more of them in the near future! Paul

There are a small handful of uncles and cousins who I KNOW would not consider it inappropriate and will probably be disappointed that I didn't bring the Ferrari. I'm not sure why, but it was hard for me to see how the rest of the extended family would perceive it. It's very clear to me now. It's sad, but funerals seem to be the only time I ever see that part of my family. |

Leave the F car at home. Even though your intentions may be good, I (personally) wouldn't count on them being PERCEIVED that way. |

Uhh, "inappropriate" comes to mind, as do several other adjectives |

By the way Ken, nice 308. Best to leave it home this time though. |

I agree with Mark. Drive another car. Too shallow to take the Ferrari. If the fcar were your only car, I'd say rent something else. |

My advice is NO WAY JOSE. Not the time to be showing off - and that is what you'd be doing, don't try to sugar coat it my man. There is a time and a season for every purpose-even showing off your Ferrari (I love doing the same), just not during or after a funeral for a loved one. I do not feel this would be indicative of "class act". |

Sounds like you've already made up your mind. Just do whatever feels right to you. I would probably drive another car if it were me. |

I look forward to meeting friends who don't know about my Ferrari. If I have to attend something and I know a lot of old friends and acquaintances will be there, I take the Ferrari.... especially if a lot of those friends and acquaintances are car enthusiasts. I'm sure all the owners out there can relate. Well, I have to attend a relative's funeral in a few days. Many of my relatives from that part of my family are car nuts, and I haven't seen them in a long time. After the funeral, I probably won't see them for a while either. Ordinarily, this would be the perfect kind of event to take my Ferrari. Is it appropriate in this case? To use a death in the family as a means to serve my own shallow purposes? What would you do? |
