Wow, the 348 looks SO much better without the strakes. Did you take the "shutters" off the taillights as well?

Beautiful.

I'm pretty sure that's the 360 on the other side of LI's 360.

Noel's car is georgeous, I was privliged to see it at the last Half Moon Bay breakfast.

The car has a great look that's part 355, and part 1980s. Very, very cool. Looks like a trimmer, 'ready' 355.

It's Serie Speciale #5, and sounds pretty cool too!

Best!
Ben.

Hey Noelrp was your 348 the one with the side strakes shaved off? I remembered seeing only one challenge with the tail lamp pictured in your profile in the parking lot. There was another red 348 and had blk silicone on the sides where the roof slants down toward the rear as if it was a 2 pc. section and it was real ugly!

"anyone knows how did the ferrari of long island do"

I'm pretty sure they had an accident with another challenge car, did a hell of a lot mroe damage to the other car, the long island 360 ended up with some bumper and right fender damage, the other one ended up with a whole left side of it bashed in, the doors, the front fenders, and rear fenders, pretty ugly.

I was there too and my car was parked behind the white M3.

We all missed each other. It was a good show nevertheless.

I think the 512M (Lemans) was the loudest of them all and I cant believe there were no F-50's on the lot.

I was out there with Ben and I video taped the event with a couple of 360's spinning out of control and also the aftermath when it went into the pits. Sorry Ben, after the parking lot show I couldn't find you but it was worth going to and seeing all the selection of cars is better than the dealership. See ya this weekend at Mtn View.

Ben,
In your last picture, the car that is third from the left is the red F355 spider that my dad (Al La Peter) and I just picked up in LA. Great pics.

Ben, I am parked in the 3rd photo down, in the double row, black 550 facing the camera, to the left of the silver 575. What a great angle from the top of the grandstands. I was there admiring the view too. Must have just missed you. We should hook up at the next bay area breakfast meeting in half moon bay.

Great photos, Ben. I was there both days. Heaven. BTW, the yellow cal spider is not real, according to a very very reliable source at the track. The only thing genuine about it is the Ferrari badge apparently. I agree the Enzo looks much nicer in real life. The engine was turned on and blipped a couple times. What a sound. I almost died. From the sound, and plus I was standing right behind the exhaust pipes. Not the smartest place to be.

More pics can be found here (2 pages worth):

http://tvrfreak.com/albums/Trips/2003%2003%2009%20Sears%20Point/page_01.htm

I'll post more shortly. Anyone with full results, or more pics please post as well.

Oh and BTW they showed off an ENZO, MUCH MUCH better looking in person. It's striking, really. Much more about function over form on this model.

-Ben

P.S. I did not see the McLaren on the track, must have done that before I got there, which is certainly more than likely.

I believe #87 in a Shelton pale yellow car took pole and victory in both races. He was considerably faster than the other 16 cars out there, almost like MS in (almost) any of last years F1 races ;) I didn't manage to match any drivers names with their associated cars. I'll post a pic of this winning car soon (at least I'm pretty sure he won), can anyone clarify?

Wow! Why didn't I see this thread earlier? Nice photos. If you have more, keep them coming. I'm working right now and so no time for my usual list of serial numbers but, just to quickly fill in Jim's question marks:

#5 is a Maserati (200 SI?) in the foreground with David Love's TR behind.

#7 is a 250 TdF.

I promise I'll do s/n's later when I have more time!

What a big turn out for that event, when I arrived I didn't expect it to be so big, unfortunate enough to get in just after the McLaren finished it's run and was making its way to it's parking spot:-( As for the F50 that was an ugly sight, I was watching the track and spot the F50 being taken away by a truck, when they brought it back to the owners I felt it was only natural to see how bad the damage was. I guess once they got the F50 there they covered it with that blanket, but you can get an idea of how bad the accident was when the pickup truck backed into the F50 area and dropped off all the scraps left of the F50's front end. Great event in all.

Well looks like that just put a big dent in what they can resell the F50 GT1 for. Now that it has gotten bent, I wonder how much it will put a dent in the resale price???? Come on guys turn our stomachs post the pics. You can't tease us like that. That's like the news broacasting that they have video of a huge police shoot out but won't show it.

I should add that every car shown so far was OUT ON THE TRACK at some point during the day. The notable cars that DID NOT get onto the track included - the Mclaren F1, the 1951 Ferrari 212 Inter Vignale Spyder, The Enzo (present but well hidden) and many other spectator Fcars.

Spent most of today at Infineon Raceway (commonly known at Sears Point) for the FCA/FNA Ferrari Challenge. Plenty of local 348's, 355's, 360's, 550's and 575's along with 2x F40 (and a variety of other F cars and even a few non F cars like a McLaren F1 and a Marcos 3 Liter), as well aa a few other rare cars including 288 and the KING F-50 GT-1 (which had an incident) here are some pics of the 360 Challenge cars and some of the "historic racers", I'll need LWA's help identifying those....

-Ben

To make them easier to identify I'll number them
