Thanks Tim, the Lotus is definitely not a bad first exotic. The later four cylinders (94-95) are very reliable and from what I understand the 98+ V8's aren't too bad either. (I've heard some 97's had problems but they may be isolated cases) Fluids, belts, and the basics. I can actually do a lot of the maintainance myself. Pretty normal schedule that I would believe is not too different from the Ferrari's. You do have to find one that has been properly maintained though. Definitely do not want to end up with the "dreaded previous owner" syndrome. As for the power, 2.2 liter single turbo four cylinder motor that puts out 300 bhp...gotta love boost! Alex |

Nice esprit. Lotus did an amazing job getting all that power (and torque)out of the small engine. Whats maintenance on one of those? They look like they would make good first sports cars. |

Thank you Michael. James, the Z was pretty much stock when I bought it but I made some changes over the years. I did model it after the Stillen SMZ and GTZ though. I say slight since the modifications are mostly bolt-ons and I can't seem to get more than 340 rwhp out of it. |

Hello Gentlemen (and Ladies), I've been reading this forum for a while now and finally decided to post. No Ferrari in my garage yet, but a Lotus Esprit S4s and a Nissan 300ZX twinturbo that's slightly modded. Someday I hope to add a Ferrari or two to the collection. I'm also trying to start something similar to AutoZotica out on the West Coast in the Delaware/PA area. Although there aren't as many exotics around here. So far just a few Vipers and Esprits as well as a couple cars of interest. Would be nice to see a couple of F cars so if you're in the area and am interested, please let me know. Finally, the inspiration for posting here tonight...saw a blue 550 today on my way home from Baltimore tonight and was curious if it's anyone from here. Had Jersey plates and was stuck in traffic on I-95 North (a Ferrari or any sportscar stuck in stopped traffic on I-95 is truly a depressing sight BTW). If that's someone here, just have to say, beautiful car! Alex |
