the black back part helps to keep sun reflections off your rear window, further the heat from the engine does not act with the paint of the lid cover, which reminds me that I have to order the engine heat pads for my cover, thank you for reminding me! |

Only part of the engine lid is painted black. On 94 spider. Have seen it on two cars so far.

On earlier 348 tb and ts models the engine deck lid was black as was the front and rear spoiler and rocker panels . The later Competition, Spider, GTB and GTS models had the rear deck lid, front and rear spoilers and rocker panels painted body color. A lot of people have had their earlier model cars painted body color. |

Why on some cars, is part of the engine lid painted black?
Can this be changed to the car color without painting?
