While a blonde one would do, I am sure the 166 Barchetta toy car looks great. As well as being as close to some of us will ever be to owning a 166. But it would be fun to pretend to be Luigi Chinetti in a less expensive "toy"! Make sure to post some pictures. On another note, I sent you an e-mail to one of your e-mail addressess, did you happen to get it? This is Josh, ex-Kansasan (now Missouri), you gave me a ride a few times in the F355. Drop me a line at [email protected] if you get a chance, or shoot me your e-mail, maybe I had the wrong one. Take care, Josh |

Does anybody collect Bimbo Racers? (no Art, I am not talking about the girls who follow you around at the motorcycle races when you are wearing your leathers) These are electric toy cars produced in Torino Italy in the mid to late fifties. The bodies are fiberglass and are modeled after a 166 Barchetta. The chassis is steel with cast aluminuum front suspension pieces with coil springs. They are 12V electric powered by a Magnetti Marelli starter motor. Children up to age 12 or so can drive them. They were expensive, about $750.00 in 1956. Anyway, I have just started a restoration, I know a lot of Ferrari guys (and girls) like them. I will post pictures of the body when I get it back from the body shop. Chris |
