Well here is the final update. My tools did arrive from Baum and everything is now in order. The kit delivered is different from the web description so be sure and call if you decide to purchase. To save a lengthy description i have included some pics. The tools are mfd by Stahlwille and as can be expected are of a good German design. The torque wrench is dual direction universal socket with a 1/2" square drive insert for maximum flexibility. The torque "multiplier" is a 3/4" x 1/2" drive conversion with offset to muscle the wheel nut. The socket is big and a good tight fit to avoid rounding. I'll be using this weekend Lord permitting so I can report back if anyone is interested. The set is about $350 and is a good addition to a mechanic's inventory. One caution, you only get one socket choice as part of the purchase. You can add others if you need. I have octagonal lug so the wing spinoff was not selected.

Brad - please report on the kit when you receive it. I am interested in the same, but without a picture, it is hard to evaluate. I need both the 8-point socket and the wing-nut tool. Please let me know how they work. By the way, do you have a torque specification for the wing-nut on the 512 BBi? Thanks. Jim S. |

Steve My thanks to you as well. I contacted Baum and they are shipping the kit complete including torque wrench, torque multiplier, sockets etc for $350. Considering the factory wrench is $220 by itself, this is a great deal. Thanks for the lead. |

Baum Tools might be another source: http://www.baumtools.com/english/product_sheets/ferrari.html No picture but the description of their PN FR2905 seems right. |

Frank, thanks much. I've gotten some positive feedback on a comparable factory tool as well so I'll check both out. I think I just visited their site recently looking at SS lines but never checked out the tools. |

Stainless Steel Brakes, Inc. makes a combination torque wrench with an adaptor for both octagonal and three eared nuts. Call them at 716.759.8666. The part no. for the octagonal one is A2906. |
