Check your muffler, it might have a hole in it, or the baffles might be rusted out on the inside. |

The thing that made my Mondial a bit quieter was changing from the OEM Eagle tires to Pirellis. The road noise change is amazing. The original tires really roar. |

The motor mounts on 308's and 328's fail and cause a lot of vibration to enter the car. In extreme examples, the motor mounts will collapse enough to allow the headers to contact the frame and you get major vibrations. The other thing is, these cars are loud, supposed to be loud, but I know my 308 got significantly quieter after new mounts were installed. |

I did both the louder stereo and used every product dynamat makes in my 308. The dynamat helped make it quieter, but not as much as I had hoped and I put the stuff everywhere. 600 watts of amps and proper speakers allows the stereo to be heard under any driving conditions, but is hard on the ears. I guess a 360 is probably the best answer. |

Ross, you can find Dynamat at just about any car stereo shop. It's primarily used to stop unwanted noises and vibrations associated with high power car audio systems. www.crutchfield.com also has it for sure online. Dave |

Ditto on Matt's suggestion. I had an annoying resonnance at certain rpms that turned out to be the right side air intake ductwork contacting the body. Dave |

By trading it for a 360? Seriously, if you really want to make it quieter you might try Dynamat or a similar product. Also check to see that your exhaust is stock and not a Tubi. |

Sell it? Don't drive over 3499 rpm? Just keep it over 4501 rpm all the time so you just hear it once. Buy a louder stereo? |

Isn't the sound of the engine better than any song on the stereo? |

I don't know if yours is louder than mine at those RPM's. Mine causes annoying vibrations at 2500-3500, but not sound. Hmm, sure you have cats and stock exhaust? If so, then I don't know, maybe there are exhaust systems that are quieter. Check out the Stirling Exhausts advertised in Forza and the sort. They're a stock replacement and might be able to do something custom. |

Yes, I know, but still.... My car has an annoying resonance/booming around 3500-4500 RPM, which is approximately 70-90 MPH (safe highway speeds around here). Since I drive it quite a bit, I would like to be able to hear the stereo from time to time. Any ideas on making it slightly quieter? |
