Window installers use a quick dry black paint(comes in a can with a daubber) for a number of windows which don't come with the black surround. Check with any windshield repair place they might let you dip your brush in their can a few times.

Russ, I recently took a window scraper and just cleaned it up a bit! It cleans up nicely and looks tons better. My .02 worth!

I used flat black model airplane paint. Worked great and lasted 3 years already.

Last year when I got the windows tinted in my Saleen, the tint shop put a pice of black vinyl at the top of the rear glass to cleanly cover all the little black dots on the factory Ford glass. If you're going to have to take out the glass to 'paint' the glass, couldn't you try the vinyl approach first?

Russ, I've never seen a 328 without that problem. If the edging isn't flaked, I'd guess the windshield has been replaced recently.

You can always get a new windshield and trim for $1500.00 or so.

Eric. I plan to go to one of the craft shops and get some black paintthat will adhere to glass and see how it works unless someone gives me a better idea. Will let you know how it goes.

Russ, I have the same problem on the 308 as well...it has flaked off in various spots all around the interior of the windshield...due to age, I guess. Been thinking about simply handpainting those areas with touch-up paint in flat black...just haven't got around to it yet.

On my 328 around the edge of the windshield is a border of semi flat black material. At one point some solvent got on it and dissolved it off the glass. Anyone know of a fix for this short of replacing the windshield.
