No. I used to be in the car business, no longer. They are not wholesale or auctioned cars.

As for my 348/355 comment. I like the handling of the 348 better because it does not have power steering. The power steering is distracting in my opinion.

I guess one can get used to it I have not yet but we will see how she handles on the track in Sebring in April for the FCA National.

Tom,
I will sell you mine:

1998 Ferrari F355 Spider
red/black
today 4,359 Miles
books, records, just did oil change, gets Stongard on the nose, after rock chips have been painted, the car is virtually new.
Stereo ($3,000+), Tubi ($3,000+)
Has all federalization papers, on Florida title.

Price: $ 95,000 for you.
No need to buy a 1995 for $100K, get a car with less miles and younger for less :-)

Sorry, the best car forum on the net has to be this one:
http://www.mkivsupra.net/bbs/

Everything is in categories and it is easy to find and view particular topics.

This one is ok but simply not the best.

I've experienced Allan's posting 'form' for a while on NSXPrime and like me, you'll all hopefully grow to love his style. :-) Controversy breeds excitement I guess. I will say that Ferrarichat and NSXPrime are the absolute best car forums on the net. They have the most intelligent, knowledgeable, helpful and classy members. Well, outside of Allan's occassional 'spice', that is. :D

I fiddled for a long while about selling my 348ts (if you're interested let me know and I'll fill you in on the details) and getting a 95/96 355 Spider and found that ones with low mi (< 10k) and had proper svc all had asking prices near $100K. So I'd like to know where these $70k + cars are.

Jeesh Allan, you're getting more heat here than on the NSX forum. :-) I am also looking for a 97+ Yellow 6 speed GTS or Spyder and Allan's prices are accurate. Yet we still see dealers advertising these cars for 110k-125k. Crack smokers.

Clark

I would point out that there may be sales tax on yours if the buyer is from another state- for example if I bought it and registered it in my state of NJ I would have to pay 6% of the sales price to NJ. Just and FYI

Allan,
You are probably right since it has only been for sale 7 days. There is a difference between what the seller says and is on paper...have one checked out and if it is as good as they say you are doing great for that price and mine will be for sale forever.

I thought, all the F355s or (basically any Ferraris) are worth more than RICED OUT Diablo. :-)

From my research, perfect 95-96 F355s will cost around $78K-$85K (depends on colours and options)
But there are always exceptions. Don't think that everyone can get same deal!!

Just buy what your wife wants, and she will be happy with it.

good luck

I dont think you understand, i have had many cars, and been in the car business for a long time. The car is absolutely flawless, with all books and records. No paintwork, no interior wear. Flawless.

Im not saying your car isnt perfect, and your entitled to ask whatever you want for your car, but as you see its still for sale, and will be forever.

There is also a new list member, who purchased a perfect, 97 or 98 yellow/black F1 for 78,000.

Allan,

I do not doubt those prices, but who is selling it and what is it's history. I say go for it but you get what you pay for. There is no way those cars are in the same class as mine. Take it to a a Ferrari service and tell them you want the car to be like new in great mechanical shape with a major service. Add up what it takes and see if you are close. I am asking 99k but there is always close to a 5% working room and there is no sales tax with mine which is worth another ~$6k.
Just my 2 cents

Was at Ferrari of Orange County (California) the other day, speaking with James. They have an immaculate low-mileage dark blue 1999 F1 355 Spyder (tan interior) with approximately 6,000 miles. Beautiful car. Asking high-end of scale, but car is like new. I was seriously contemplating selling one of my F-cars and my 2nd born, but if someone is looking for an exceptional car, you might call them. I have no relationship with Ferrari of Orange County, financial or otherwise.

With the 355's plummeting like this, are the 348's plummeting as well? I'm just wondering how long the 80% of the car for 60% of the price thing can hold up with low mileage 355's dipping down to $70k. I've gotta doubt you can get a nice, low mileage, 348 for <$40k

efwun, i think martin is referring to the cost element. since he just sold his 348 for a 355, i believe he knows full well the 355 is a better car. but the 348 gets you about 80pct of the performance for about 60pct of the price of a 355, not a bad starter ferrari. (nb, thats what i did so i guess i am biased)

Again, Allan, prices also depend on condition, stories, etc. Not to say they're anywhere near what they were 6 months ago.
Martin, the 348 is better car than the 355?? Yikes. Sorry, must disagree.

Not to burst your bubble, but prices have fallen drasticly, and are falling even more.

Just a sample of some of the cars, including the car id drove yesterday, all with books, records and in perfect shape.

95 Spyder, 12,000 miles, 79,000
97 spyder, 5,000 miles, 85,000
95 Berlinetta 11,000, 70,000

As of now, ill be buying the 97.

"Clark your car looks great, and id be very interested, but your price is way out there. 98-99's are selling in the 70's"

I doubt it, maybe junk in the 70's but good cars have not fallen that low yet.

Allan,
since I bought the 355 Spider my wife drove the car and she really likes it. The power steering for her is just such a plus. The clutch feels lighter and the overall handling of the car is easy. A true female car (gheez, I will get bashing for that).

The 348s are great cars especially on the track. Feels much better at speed as far as I am concerned. I would go for the 355 if she will be driving if you are looking for a car go with a 348.

Maybe consider the F1 for your wie. The girls like that automatic thing. (except a few, Nika..I kow...)

Also, anyone want to buy a 1992 348 ts, black/black chrome wheels? High miles, has records, including recent major 10,000 service including double disk clutch and belts. This car runs and looks perfect, and is very reliable. Wife hates the weight of the clutch.

Clark your car looks great, and id be very interested, but your price is way out there. 98-99's are selling in the 70's.

No way am i switching sides! Car is for the Wife!
It is nice though!
