Cruising, only my opinion and worth exactly what you are paying for it. I have owned a "t"(308), "b"(TR) and curently a spider(348). Different Ferraris, certainly, but somewhat applicable. I sold the TR because I wanted a Ferrari spider. Looking at Ken's list, I would fall into category "3". From the tone of your post you fall into the same. Live in the Peoples Republic of MA. Weather ranges from -5~+105 F. Do not drive in the -5 but drive the more temperate 8 months. Honestly, do not know if the A/C even works. Top is down when temps range from 50~105, 80% of the 5k+ miles I drive the Ferrari each year. Summer get up at 5:00 AM to drive in the reasonably cool air 3~5 mornings a week. Weekends the Ferrari goes everywhere, from WalMart to the 200 mile trip to my cottage on the Cape. Late at night, driving across Boston, 80F, tubi, thru the tunnel, by Zakem bridge beautifully lit, difficult to duplicate the experience in a "t" or "b". Spring when the trees bloom, fall when the leaves change. Fantastic top down driving. Nothing compares to the sights and sounds in a top down Ferrari. |

I spent time looking for a F355B. I am not a wind in the hair type of person {Probably has something to do with the 2 feet of hair hanging down my back.} and wanted the extra stiffness that a full roof adds to the chassis. I have only had the windows down when payinig tolls and when driving on the track. |

I went from a TS 348 to a 355 Spider. Really not a track car. I can not see me using that on the track, but I will in April in Sebring. Forget hard driving...just a nice pleasure cruiser. GTB and GTS are more sturdy. The B being the best. I honestly love them all for their individual things they offer. The Spider for me has the advantage that I always have the top with me, not like previously in the GTS bring it on the car or leave it home at 6'4"

Question for you guys. Is the wind a lot worse in a spyder than in a GTS? Or are they the same with the difference being the lines on the car? |

Unless you have the funds to do so I would say most F-owners in general will not be using their F-cars primarily or mostly on tracks and I doubt in most cases it would be a "oh well it's totalled I'll just go get another one.Look at me can be done on many cars besides an F-Car, it's easily done in an import with big wings on it. So I would say go get the type that looks best to you on the series of car. Concours? who cares, drive it, garage art? why bother buying it settle for a poster or model, road trips and fun driving is what to aim for and get the one that looks best to you and not what other dumb ass thinks, at least you can get it and others just keep wishin. As for the GTS, B, or spyder, that would depend on the climate zone. If I lived in a cold and rainy part of the country I'd settle for the B or GTS, if the weather is mostly good and sunny I'd go for the spyder as I like open air driving but "HOT" air is not good to drive with the top down but with the top up I'm sure the interior would be less hot compared to a hard top as the "B" would hold more heat due to the metal top and a canvas top should breathe better. |

I'll answer this. What do you plan to do with the car? 1. Trip around the city going "lookit me!" 2. Track it. 3. Road trips. 4. Concours 5. Garage art If 2 or 3 is your idea of fun go for a "B". At 110 in 112^ heat as you are crossing AZ you really don't long for the open air. |

buying a B verses a GTS or Spyder. Seems there are so many more 355Bs than berlinettas for other v8s such as 308, 328, 348s. Are they really good? Or were there just that many more produced? I like the looks but I think I would long for the open air if I were to buy a B. Just curious. |
