Talking to members in the UK Ferrari Owners Club,
they feel the service they get at the main dealers is not very good. Young mechanics working on the Ferraris, only interested in the 9-5 job.
The costs of servicing in to high.

At a specialist the mechanics enjoy the work they do, proud to work on the cars. The cost is cheaper usually and better service.

New and upto 3 years old car main dealers are used due to the cars being covered under Ferrari warranty. After the warranty expires majority of owners go to the specialist dealers. All round better service and value for money. Main dealers only interested in new owners and their cars.

When you come to sell the car, if its got full service history with documented evidence and car is pristine looking, and well looked after the car will sell. Using a specialist the car still will have Full Ferrari History. Do you think ?

I know several Specialist that are excellent. They have actually have pouched mechanics from
the main dealers.

I got to a Guy called Nick Cartwright Specialist Cars in Derbyshire. He has two mechanics that have worked on Ferraris over 30 years and they used to work at Graypaul main dealer.

I do know some specialist will not have the modern computers for the engine diagnostics like the main main dealers, but for the cambelt changes and general mechanical work they are the best.

I'm based in the South East area of the UK. My 550 is now nearly 3.5 years old and due for cam-belts and major service.

I've had the odd issue fixed at a large well-known local independent. Is there a negative effect on future value if I get the car serviced at that independent? Should I still be using the dealer network for my servicing?

I'd like to keep the car for a long time. But in these uncertain times who can be sure. If I had to sell within the next 1 to 2 years would independent service stamps be bad for market value?

Any help would greatly be appreciated.
