Anthony- I was exactly where you are right now 18 months ago. I looked while on vacation at the 355's and 360 at Las Gatos. I drove the 360 down at the Calavino Classic 2002 and was hooked on a 360. I found Jan 02 a 5000 mile red/tan (1999) 6 speed for 148k and decided to go with the 02 2 month old red/tan 293 mile car with 34 months warranty available. I honestly paid $170 01/2002. The prices has come down since then, but would I trade the past 14 months for todays prices-NO. You must find the right car and not view it as an investment. I have never enjoyed a sports car so much. I have a friend who has a black/black 355 and he loves it. I don't feel you will go wrong with any F car that raises your enjoyment of sports cars. |

Tbone--I was once exactly in your shoes. I hadn't even considered a 360 when I was searching for a 355 GTS. You need to drive them both. The 360 has a much more modern, roomier interior (which I didn't care about), but then I drove a 360. Torque, baby, torque (vs. a 355--I'm sure all of the 12 cylinder owners are laughing). If you are considering a 360, prices for coupes (1999/2000), with complete documentation would seem to be around 150K, depending on color/options/location/miles, etc. Either would be a great choice. Good luck. |

The answer is to drive both cars and buy the one that raises your pulse rate the most. Never buy a Ferrari as an investment, it is not and you will get skinned. It is an irrational, passionate object of joy and pure lust. You will never go wrong if you buy the one that most inflames your lust-o-meter!

Welcome aboard, T-Bone. There are several later-model owners on this site who should be able to help you. |

I've been lurking on this board for the last few months, and am considering buying an F-car. I currently have a Boxster S, which although fun, certainly leaves me wanting more. (It was all that my wife allowed me last year !! I'm PW'D). I am considering either a 355 GTS, or a 360 coupe. As much as I love new technology, I must say that I like the lines of the 355 better. Price is not that much of an issue, although I'd appreciate ballpark figures of how much I should expect to pay. I look forward to being a full fledged member. TIA. T-Bone |
