Hey, is that Italian pasta or spaghetti? it figures. From the pic I see a pair of relays for door locks on the middle bottom and next to it on the right is an impact sensor, and right of that is a proximity sensor and the other black boxes I can't make out but I can see clearly it is a middle grade alarm system that was poorly installed. The wiring should be in tied looms like the way the factory would wire it. It seems the person was too cheap to pay for a good install as if you take your car to a reputable shop you would not see something like this from an experienced trained installer. Some installers don't get any better, unfortunately.... |

I can't believe you removed the musical horns. There is nothing like the Lone Ranger theme coming out from under the hood of a Ferrari! Just kidding of course, pain in the butt but it seems as though you are on the right track now! |

This is all for extra crap, and not everything is shown in the photo! The equipment has been mostly removed, but they left all the wires just going everywhere. The car at one time had these: forward/rearward radar, big-time stereo, extensive alarm system, and although I'm ashamed to say it...musical horns. I just couldn't believe my eyes! If they had done a first rate install I would be so upset, but to just splice where ever there's power, cram stuff here and there, there's just no excuse. I would physically beat the person who did this if I could. I have repaired most of the wiring, and will finish it up this week. And I will have much better peace of mind. |

I am sure they are the head installer where ever they are working now. |

Ugh! What a rats nest! I'd love to know the story behind how that wound up that way. After you get it cleaned up, will you be putting in your new system yourself, or using an installer? |

A few days ago I started the thread about what's the biggest surprise you found after you got your Ferrari? Well I started it because as I'm working on my TR's interior I noticed extra wires from previous installations various items. One thing lead to another untill I gutted my cars interior to access all the crappy work that had been done. I've tried to attach a pic showing most...but not all...of the stuff I've removed. It's unbelievable that anything worked on my car given the number of splices and lousy connections. Why would someone with a Ferrari have things done like this? Is there no pride?
