Wow, Mike.

No offense but I think I would pass if you invited me over. :-)

Hope your luck changes in a big way.

Now, I'll make sure anyone who sits in my car doesn't have any "sharp" objects protruding...

Took the seat back off and took it to my local upholstery guru and $300.00 later it is as new. Thank God I had enough matching Conolley leather in the garage as he informed me that Conolley is no longer in business.
Now it is time to replace all buttons on my pants with Velcro!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, by the way Bob, you haven't heard all the "stories" that have befallen my poor car.(and me)
Weedeater falling off garage wall.
Initials WES carved in roof.
Drop down gear coming loose & right out of housing. And resulting flash fire as gear lube sprayed on exhaust.
Hood strut breaking and going thru hood.
Getting run over by my old Mercedes.
Tree limb going thru the top of my Boxster.
Getting bit by a copperhead in my driveway.
Ah, the stories could go on and on.
Signed,
Lucky

For your 3/4" tear, you can glue a piece of leather to the back of it, holding the pieces together so that the rip is nearly closed as the glue firms. Once that has completely dried, you can get some leather filler goop from Leatherique that will fill the open wound and seal it like it was scar tissue. You can then dye over it. When/if you call Leatherique, ask for owner George (Pavlisko) and let him know that I had suggested that you talk directly to him. Let him know what you've got and see if he confirms that as the fix. He's really quite an expert at leather repair and restoration.

Broken button, almost torn seat. I went to take the car out the other day, climbed in, went to buckle the seat belt and the lock mechanism for the belt(plastic) broke into 3 pieces scratching & almost ripping the seat.

Seriosuly, though. I've got a similar predicament, though not as severe. I was working on the fusebox and some other stuff... and... {head bowed in shame} somehow sat on some sort of screwdriver on the seat, and made a 3/4" tear in the leather.

Granted, it's not 6", but what can be done here?

Decided to take my 308 out for a little drive since the pile of ice finally melted in front of the garage. Jumped in the car and heard rrriipp. A broken button on my wallet pocket tore about a 6 inch gash on the side bolster of my nearly new interior. Who would have ever thought this could ever happen........
