Hello to everyone. A couple of weeks ago, the german car magazine Auto Motor & Sport did a test with some modified cars. The 360 spider with the Digi-Tec modifications (chip and exhaust, I think) reaches exactly the topspeed 360 spider of 295 k/mh (184 mph). As I talked with my dealer about a chip modification for my 355, he told me that this could/would cause problems with the valveliners of the middle inletvalve due to ist flatter angle to the cam. Imo to some naturally aspirated engines the hp gain due to a modified chip will be remarkable (i.e. the 3.6 l engines in the 964 & 993 P-cars) and in some cars you wont feel a real difference. The 5 valve engines of the 355 an 360 f-cars with their already high specific output of 110 bhp per liter are among those engines as far as I heard. Enjoy your mild motorized but reliable cars.

Doesn't it have the power of the Challenge Stradale? Only heavier right? 425 brake I figure with chip and exaust form Digi-Tec... |

George- the 19s are coming in because of the desire to fit 380mm carbon/ceramic discs. Tire technology is catching up, but one still has to be careful in 19" (and 18" for that matter) wheel selection. Some are incredible works of modern art and very light, while others are monstrositys that weigh twice what the competiton does. The world continues to change, several years back, almost all 18" wheel/tires were heavy 'bling bling' crap. Now we have tires with Kevlar belts, and wheels by Kenesis and others that are as light or lighter than many OE 15" wheels. Blanket rules no longer apply, it is a brave new world! ECU stuff sounds intresting. 9200rpm, HELL YEAH! Best! Ben. |

How much are the ECUs in US Dollars? Would widening the front track do anything even if you already have put wider wheels on the front of the car? Why does everyone say that 19 inch wheels do no favors because obviously if Ferrari is going to all 19 inch wheels (575M, 360 Stradale, Enzo) then it must be just as good or better? |

Hi Guys, anyone read the December issue of FORZA magazine? There is a 4 page article about the owner of Digi-tec in Germany, Michael Pullmuller (great name!). He's personal cars are - wait for it - a 360 Modena AND a 360 Spider. Both with Digi-tecs ECU upgrades that took 1 year to complete first time round to make it just right. Get this - you get another 30-40 BHP, take the top speed up to 198 actual speed, rev limiter raised to 9200 and the best part, a 2 year engine and drive train warranty for 200 !!! All for what I can work out to be either 3500 fully fitted or 2 x 750 for replacement ECUs that then need to be fitted by yourself. Important to have them fitted by Digi-tec though as they tailor to YOUR car - it is NOT a 'blanket chip' that may or may not give 80% only. Apparently they give 5 years warranty on the ECUs and 2 on the car itself following the work carried out. According to Digi-tecs owner, who now runs 2 x 360s both modified (in addition to the many customers cars modified since 2000), the engine can easily rev to 9200 and by raising fuel input at high revs it actually runs cooler and better as the stock car runs a slightly lean mixture at high revs. Furthermore, Digi-tec can lower your stock car on the original dampers by 25 mm AND put a specially designed spacer between hub and wheel to widen the track for enhanced stability. It also looks darn good I can tell you. Look at your 360 and you will see the alloys being slightly 'inside' the wheel arches rather than filling them out completely following lowering and widening track. Apparently this is better than fitting 19 inch Alloys as they do the handling no favours.. Just thought I would share this with everyone in case you hadn't seen the article. I'm VERY tempted....
