Already have the model, this is what got me curious as to the cars history. Not sure though if I want to know if its had any major shunts in its glory days. |

Ton and Michael, Bernd Hahne is working for the new franchise dealer at Mettmann now. If you want to contact him you should call Lueg in Mettmann or via their homepage (Forgot the adress, can be accessed via www.ferrari.de again!) Co saluti cordialissimi, Jens Haller |

Bernd Hahn was one of the salesman at Auto Becker. He is a very nice guy. He will definitely be able to help you although I suspect that he is not able to acces any data anymore. His whereabouts is unfortunately unknown at the moment (maybe Ferrari Germany can help you with that too). Ton

Jens Thanks for you info. if you could please check for me I would greatly appreciate any information on the car. I also know that the car was sold by Bernd Hahn who was the F355 Challenge champion and was wondering if he ever used my car prior to Peter D'Costa owning it. MV |

Ahhhh: Forgot to mention Maserati: Selling is a little slow here in Germany although they sell more than just 7 cars over here. Still I have heard that Ferrari urges the official dealers to buy several Maseratis over a given period. Actually they are selling them more than they ever can sell. This annoys lots of dealers here in Germany. Its kind of a blackmail since Ferrari threatens to strip their franchise for both marquees if not buying the Maseratis. Still they have "full books" for Ferrari so they can afford, I guess... Con saluti cordialissimi, Jens Haller |

Martin, Its really a shame that Becker is out of business. For some time it was the biggest Ferrari dealer in Germany and for sure they have been the first ever to import a Ferrari to Germany after the war. The boss Helmut Becker which is the son of the "real" Becker started just to concentrate on social events, never looked in his books anymore, business controlling was not existent etc. Then he began to betray his wife with a girl which is around 25 years old. He himself is over 60 now, I guess. Then he began not to pay his employees anymore. Before the whole company collapsed he pissed of with the girl to Marbella: What a jerk!! His wife tried to save the company but they lost the franchise and went bancrupt after one year or so... Sad story indeed, the franchise is already given away to the Mercedes dealer Lueg which has his Ferrari dealership in Mettmann near Düsseldorf now! Con saluti cordialissimi, Jens Haller |

You have got to be kidding. They were huge in my days in Germany. I guess the economy in Germany really sucks! How is the Maserati sales in Germany going. The US is selling NOTHING! I heard they sold 7 units in the entire USA in January. Those from sources inside FNA. Becker out of business. who would have thought that day will come. They had some serious racing history. I guess there is a franchise open in Germany.. how about it Jens! |

Michael, Auto Becker is out of business. They are bancrupt now, sadly. No way of asking them anymore, I guess... Perhaps I can give you the info somewhere next week since it might be possible for me to take a look at the attendance lists of the challenge races that time. Dont want to promise you that since I dont know whether all data is delivered in the book. Con saluti cordialissimi, Jens Haller P.S. Shoot a mail or better phone Ferrari Germany in Wiesbaden. Adress can be found somewhere at www.ferrari.de They should really be able to trace back whether the car was raced in the Challenge series at that time! |

Michael, if it helps, I can say with authority that the livery is period appropriate to 1993. Ferrari alowed certain modifications in '94 that would be visible in this photo. I built and managed Challenge cars from 1993 to 2000 in the US. Regards, Rob |

Could anyone assist me with tracing the history of my 1992 348 Challenge VIN no. ZFFKA36B000094927. The car was originally sold by Auto Becker in Dusseldorf Germany to a Peter W d'Costa. 19.07.1996 Ferrari Racing Days Nurburgring with Peter Worm D'Costa, on German plates SG-BT348. 26.11.1993 Motor Show Essen/Germany. Displayed on the stand of Auto Becker. - What I am hoping to find out is was it raced in the Ferrari challenge series, if so, how well did it do and who raced it. Also any additional information would be greatly appreciated. I can attached an image of the car in racing colours if it will help. Also, does anyone have a time for a lap of the Nurburgring in a 348 or 348 challenge? Please email to [email protected]. |
