James, this is SOOOOOOO cool. Ever since I saw one of these driven on that Ferrari special on Speedchannel, I've wanted one. It is just a timeless, AWESOME racing car. Definitely keep us posted on how it is coming along. Thank you in advance.

Yep, that's (in my opinion) the all-time great. Nothing looks like that, not even the Series I and II GTOs.

Thanks. This is a photo of 0846 just after it was converted to a P4 from a P3 by Ferrari. It is the image that stuck in my mind for 36 years and started me down this road. We restarted the engine and are running it in. Heavy Metal Thunder!

Jim,

I know that you stated before that you are going to paint her red, with no numbers, etc. but I hope and assume that you are going to stick on the Ferrari shields?

Again beautiful pictures and great to get a view of this sort of car like this. Thanks.

John
The P4's actually didn't have seat belts at all but as I plan to drive this car on the street and because I'd want them anyway I'd deceided to mount them for both driver and passenger. The tracks I run on require 3in belts for this class of car. I used Crow because they were willing to make them without their logo/lable.
The lights are original Marchal. The horn is original as well but it's packed away somewhere so I'm not sure.
Best
Jim

James, I have never seen 3" belts in a sixties car. I'm really into the period correct stuff as well. The belts made in the sixties all had forged, not stamped, hardware on the harness attachments. Simpson still makes them this way. I have an example somewhere that I can send you if you like. I just talked to the guy at www.cibie.net about period correct lights for my 65 shelby. Does your car use carello or marchal lights? Does your car use the chrome plated brass Fiaam air horns with the cast compressor?

Period correct belts manufactured without lables.
Latches ground to remove incorrect latch pull.
Period correct black (very hard to find as most is red) brake and cockpit cooling ducting.
Female nose pin recpticle. (Should be black)
Etc...
