GTS ON TV Friday 21st March

British Ferrari team to be subject of Sky documentary

The behind the scenes drama of Team Maranello Concessionaires first season of European GT racing is to be captured by the TV cameras and broadcast by Sky Sports throughout 2003.

Every move of its cars, drivers and personnel, will be scrutinised by the film crews of sports programme producers CSS for transmission on Sky Sports.

"The spectacular performance of Veloqx Motorsport on and off track during its debut season attracted the interest of programme planners at Sky," announced John Newman, Commercial Director of TMC. "Now, together with CSS, we have concluded an agreement with Sky Sports for a series of 30-minute programmes charting our progress during 2003. Our campaign to win the FIA GT Championship will be spotlighted by 10 fly-on-the-wall type programmes, with plenty of interviews with our race drivers plus behind the scenes, as well as on-track, action. The programmes will be transmitted, with up to three repeats in the 72 hours after first broadcast, between March and December."

The programmes are guaranteed prime-time broadcasting positions on Sky Sports 1, 2 or 3, with plans for networking them across Asia and Australia via Star and JSky Sports. TMCs two 24 Hour race activities at Spa with the TMCs 360 GTs and at Le Mans with the 550 Maranello GTS cars, racing as the Veloqx Prodrive Racing joint venture will be the subjects of their own dedicated programmes.
