You guys are giving me an idea. Maybe I can stick a Tubi errrr I mean Fuchs on the boat. The Boat's got 850 HP (425 x 2)... but it just doesn't have that Indy car sound LOL. ---- John

Hehehhe funny story John.
very nice pic of the spider in your profile....
is the boat yours too? flashy, aye! I see you changed your car info already, Fuchs exhaust, good job.

Btw, the converting guy, he's got some nice cars going through his hands there, not bad at all.

Enjoy your Spider, with or without a Tubi :-)

HaHa, replace Tubi with Fuchs in any posts I may have made up till this point. When I got my 360 Spyder, I was working with a conversion place in Miami -AMC- that also helps connect potential buyers to sellers. They are pretty well known down here and move a VERY large volume of Ferraris. The guy who owns the place is named Ramez. He had a Spyder that I liked that he was finishing the conversion on, and over a couple weeks I got a price I liked and bought it. It was my impression the car was pretty much stock all around (You have to understand that due to the turnover of cars back then, he was not always in tune with what each one had and was not a salesman per se, he was just helping his conversion clients. To give you an idea, when I was buying this car like 6-8 months ago... he was converting a 959, 4 Barchettas, an F50, an F40 Koenig, a couple GT2's, several 550's and 10-15 360's -mostly spyders- and was getting ready for his first SL55's to come in. When the conversion on mine was finally done and I took delivery, he said "BTW, you know you have a Tubi". I said, cool.. thanks (I love freebies). Fast forward now about 6-8 months. I drive in so he can fix a minor door release problem, and as I'm pulling in... he asks me if I have a Tubi or Fuchs. I tell him, I thought you said I had a Tubi. He says it sounds more like a Fuchs and so we have a look and... yehp, it's a Fuchs. Anyway, upshot is that I used to be a very happy Tubi owner,... now I'm a very happy Fuchs owner LOL.
I talked to him and his head mechanic about it, and they both said they prefer Fuchs because it sounds sportier, but also said it's louder than a Tubi. I don't think it's particularly loud... but I guess it's all up to the individual to decide how much of this Indy sound they want coming out of the car. This Fuchs really does put on a show if you rev it. Anyway, I'm not so sure if a Tubi versus Fuchs comparison may make sense... I get the impression they differ more in the decibels of the sound, rather than quality of it. In A/B stereo comparisons, people will always prefer the "louder" speaker... I think what people need to ask is on a day in day out basis how much of this sound they want. I find the Fuchs perfect, but I drive my car down in South Beach where there's all kinds of "commotion", bright colors, ass cracks galore... so a racy exhaust is not at all out of place. On the other hand, if I were driving the car in a quiet suburb in Philadelphia, I'd probably skip an aftermarket exhaust.
I will also concur about the notion of breaking these things in. I got mine with about 4K miles and it sounded great (but remember the car was sitting for like 4 months during the conversion and sale process). Now that I have been running it regularly and have added 1.2K miles, the Exhaust is getting very rich sounding. Don't know how else to explain it... it sounded great initially, but I guess compared to now, the inital sound was more raspy while now it sounds rich. Kinda like your voice in the morning and your voice after you have a couple glasses of water.--- John
