I took the time to call Romano and talk to him. He is a very nice guy and really does not deserve the heat here. He bought the car this way and was contemplating taking the wing of.
Just try to see it this way. The previous owner had put a lot of money into his personalization of the car. You may not like it but I am sure the previous owner loved it. To each his own.

Gheez, Modman got heat for spraying his airbox red and that looked so good!

Modman,
just what you suggested is what I had suggested to him as well. I think he will do it, especially since that will increase the interest on the car for sale. The car otherwise appears in great shape with the 30K done and only 34K miles on the clock.

What is the asking price for the car? From the pictures it looks very clean and all I would do is remove the wing and fill the holes up with lead and have the lid repainted and it's only a small portion that needs painting. I have to agree that some of you fellas are overbagging the car when it seems to be in better condition than most I've seen here and some you fellas don't even have one to compare. The car isn't completely ruined just because of a wing, it's an easy fixable job and better than restoring a rust bucket. Hey it's just my opinion... Don't hate....

I don't think people were being too hard on him, of course, sometimes we can be a little more tactful in voicing our opinions :-) Even though Robert joined us last year I think the group as a whole is skeptical of those whos first couple posts relate to the sale of a car, just my two cents

I don't know about leasing a car like this. Especially when, as you stated, it is aging and the entry price will be exceeded by maintanence eventually. But I have heard that a lot of very high end vintage cars are leased to avoid paying sales tax. Or at least that is what a Putnam Leasing guy told me.

welcome to the club, romano. dont worry about some of the posts, many people here are a bit too honest at times... not that its always a bad thing. car looks nice, IMO the spoiler doesnt look that bad. hope you find a happy home for it.

can ANYBODY rationally explain to me why on earth you'd ever lease a car like this? it's a ticking time bomb of potentially huge maintenance costs.

i fully understand the financial arguments of leasing a car under warranty, but i've never understood the logic of leasing aging exotics with high repair costs.

doody.

LOL, Jim...

i'm with Byron- the guy just got hit with all this undue commentary when it probably wasn't necessary...

Having said that, i'm not a big fan of that particular spoiler, but $550 a month is what i pay for insurance- if i could get rid of the insurance (or my apartment), i would grab that car in a HEARTBEAT...! i have nothing against spoilers, i just don't think i'd ever put one on a 3X8- but this one isn't overly obscene and it does give it a unique look...

If i sold the Saturn, got a second job and REALLY tightened up my budget, i think i could actually make something like that happen...

Hey Romano- welcome to FerrariChat... Nice offer and nice car... :-)

Hey Brian,

Their just taking "tifosi" to a new level.

I would buy it, but right now and the future isnt looking sharp. Most sellers want 5-10k more then what its worth too

I agree, you all sound like the type of Ferrari Snob a lot of people associate with Ferrari's.

Very Sad, I think that 328 looks absolutly stunning.

Hey guys... lay off on the guy here... if I'm not mistaken, he's asking if there is anyone interested in leasing or buying the car, as it is. I don't believe he's asking for an opinion of whether or not the spoiler belongs on his car.

If you don't like it, just keep that to yourself. No need to be rude.

Yep, the spoiler has gotta go. These cars didn't need them to add more style. The rest of the car look fine to me. Very clean. :-O

The spoiler is,,,, Different..
:I

It looks like a really good car..

I'd say a few more things about that spoiler, but I don't even own a Ferrari yet, so I will be nice..

The car does look, different in a different kind of way.

Looks like it might be a Koenig modified car but it is hard to tell from the picture then again it also look as if just the wing has been added.

Even "ricers" don't use 2 separate rear spoilers......looks very childish. You would have to pay me $550/month to drive that thing.

What the hell is that on the back of that car. When you have cancer, have the tumor removed.

Couldn't agree more Johns.

A perfectly good look completely ruined by some expensive plastic. All is not lost however - Michael Jackson might be interested ;-)
