Yup, the Tasmin was the last model that TVR sold in the US before pulling out of this market. |

Faisal, I looked at my book again and it's the speed 12 version, as you mentioned, of the Cerbera that peaks to 240 mph. Amazing! |

I work on it myself. And I live with a lot of niggles that I wouldn't put up with if I was in England. If it's something major, I fly in a couple of mechanics I know. That works out much cheaper than having some muppet here try his hand, confident in the knowledge that I will pay (dearly) for his mistakes. It's a right-hand drive, yes. There's actually no issues with having a RHD here, legally or practically, except when you get to a toll-booth. TVR is not here because they don't have the financial backing to take on the US market. It's a small factory run by an eccentric named Peter Wheeler, and he has decided he is not interested in the US market. I hope to bring these cars here eventually. From the time of any announcement, either by me or anyone else, it will be at least 18 months. |

Originally I imported it temporarily (I have a British passport) as a sort of "tourist visa" for the car. Then I switched it to Manufacturer's plates as I am trying to raise funding for a factory to build cheap, gorgeous, fast cars. So this is now my test prototype. So far I have tested a traction control system and different exhausts on it. I hope to do airbags next. And finally, it might be used in the crash testing if required. (I have already done a couple of "informal" crash tests hehe--it passed with flying colors). Poor thing. I love it so much, too! |

I *wish* it were a McLaren beater...but no car is! Some cars are faster or "better" in one way or another, but when you consider the whole package, nothing beats the McLaren F1. It is the absolute best. As far as McLaren beating TVRs are concerned, the model you are thinking of is the Cerbera Speed 12. That is only sold to race teams, and I think there's only 4 that were built. They are carbon fibre, single seater monsters, have 900 bhp in unrestricted form, and are absolutely outrageous machines. The rear bumper/skirt is big enough to double as a dining table. Do a picture search on Google and you will see what I mean. |

It was nice to meet you all. I was amazed at the amount of automotive knowledge regarding late model cars (SMG trans), new features of BMW's, new design for the 7 series, Faisal's knowledge of every detail of the McClaren F1 automobile. Noel mentioned something about missing church, to which Faisal replied "this is worship!" Great stuff! I'll definetely go to the next one. Faisal, we can go for a ride in the Saleen next time! Nice pictures Mark! |

Thanks for the invite guys. I had a fantastic time. You have no idea how mean a Ferrari 550 looks when it's closing in on you. Ben and I drove back on route one. It was simply exquisite. Shimmering ocean views, beach and surfer scenes, rustic towns, cliffs, a short winding stretch through sun-dappled road, all within 20-odd miles. It felt like driving along the Med, then by the Adriatic, then the Cote d'Azur, and finally, New Jersey (we ended up in South San Francisco)!! Thanks for the invite. Would love to do this again! |

TVR Cerbera. I was following right behind Faisal's TVR on the way to HMB. Awsome exhaust, especially during the backfiring. Beautiful car, Faisal. We had 7 cars and a motorcycle: the TVR, 2 550's, 1 308, 1 348, 1 355, 1 Saleen Mustang, 1 Ducatti Futura. Great weather. Great food. Great friends. |

So far, 1 vote for Olivetto's, 2 for HMB (I assume that's what you meant, Ben!). Mark, Steve, Tako, others... what do you think? More input from others? I actually kind of like HMB myself. |

HMB was pretty fun really, got a chance to wind through the PCH a bit. Maybe move it north to Tiburon, or Sausalito or somewhere out the Marin Headlands (though we'd have to bring our own food to the latter The place with the best drive/run-through-hills would get my vote! Last time, felt like we took over that block in HMB, I liked the small-town feel very much! Outdoor seating where we can oogle cars a plus. Best! Ben. |

Hi Guys!! I also have a few alternative suggestions: Copenhagen Bakery on Burlingame Ave in Burlingame, Stacks also on Burlingame Ave, Horizons in Sausalito, Sweden House Bakery on Main Street in Tiburon, or the old standby Moonside Bakery in Half Moon Bay. In my opinion, the destinations with the best drives to would be HMB or Tiburon. I think the restaurant should be such that we could ogle and admire our cars while we eat!! We had a lot of fun last time. Let's do it again. Let's do a quick vote! |

Hello All, Norm and I were thinking it was about time to get the gang out together again. Just for Tak, we are going to suggest a later morning gathering ; ) We ran into a unusual amount of traffic on the drive last time, so if anyone has any suggestions on another venue other than Half Moon Bay, we are completely open to suggestions. Please let me know if you are interested in getting together next weekend on either Saturday or Sunday. Thanks, and look forward to seeing everyone again! Steve |
