Last summer I sold an 85 GTB (red/tan)with 40K and everything sorted. Cosmetics were better than usual for age and mileage. I got 36K for it quickly. The caveat here is that QV GTB's are very rare in the US. The buyer wanted one and mine was the only one for sale at the time. I think a GTS would have sold for about the same, but may have taken longer because there is more competition. Likewise, yellow is extremely rare on QV's so Wade could really get stiff money from someone who really wanted yellow. From your description, I think 30-35K is fair. Dave |

I paid just over 34k for my 84 Euro QV last December. 8 out of 10 with good mechanicals (pre-purchase inspection was about $200). 3 months and 2500 miles later... Would I sell it for $40k? No way! Not even CLOSE... http://www.ferrarilist.com/my308/pics/ |

I've been wathing the 308 market for a few months and good condition QV's with ~45K miles are going for around $32K. I've seen a lot of ads for lower mileage cars for the high 30's but cars are still for sale because no one is paying that much for a QV right now. |

Kevin, I echo everyone else's comments here...I have an '84 QV and an independant dealer on Saturday asked "how much are they going for these days?"...I responded "...mid to upper $30's..." I also wouldn't accept anything less than $40K. |

Hey Mitch, I felt the same way yesterday. I was driving, flogging, shifting, rev'en my 85' QV all day yesterday. Running around the SF Bay area on a beautiful day from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm - sheer bliss @ 7,000 rpm. I've done a tone of service on my car over the winter and now it's paying off. Last summer it was appraised by an independent insurance adjuster for $45K and that was before all the work! 85' 308 QV w/49,000 miles red/tan and you couldn't have it for less $50K Fair price for the one you saw, Kevin 30 to 40K. |

Kevin, get the VIN and run a carfax. I would also call FNA and make sure she is a USA car. Otherwise, if it drives well and you have the service records IN HAND and it has tools, books, records, I would say it is certainly worth $31,900. Keep us posted! |

Guys, thanks for the information. The car was red/black and looked pretty good. Paint was about 7.5 on a 10 scale. Car was serviced by Premier ____ in NC. Asking price is $31.9K. |

To paraphrase a bumper sticker... "You can take my Euro 1985 308GTS QV from my cold dead hands". Would not part with her for $40k either. MAYBE at 45k i'd give it a go... maybe. Enjoy the Drive,. Steven R. Rochlin

I will only replace her with another 308QV and the register will live on for ever. I have got to sell her if I want to make a living. that is kind of what I do ya know sell cars. I will not be with out one for long I have already got my eyes on a nice red one. Wade |

Would have to agree with Mitchel's assessment -- prices are quite varied. For example, here are a few very recent prices I've seen for the '85 308GTSi QV: Red/Black - 20,000miles - Naples, FL - $38,995 Red/Tan - 41,900miles - IN - $35,900 Blue/Blue - low miles - Longwood, FL - $45,000+ My '85 308 QV has 56,000miles, full 30k service completed (plus many extras), etc., etc. -- I would not sell it for $40k either. Hope this helps... |

Kevin, I have seen the values so VARIED that it is tough to price if we cannot see it. BUT, I'd say the car is worth $32-$38,000. Who did the service?? What color? Put it to you this way, I have a 84 QV with the 45k done with belts with 53,000 miles and I would not sell it for $40k. |

Got to test drive a 1985 308 GTSqv this weekend. Pretty tight, normal wear, good condition. Had the 45K service incl. timing belt done. Looked like original paint to me. 52K miles. What is a fair price?
