A crude calculation: (g)(slalom)/(0-100 speed): 355S 4.7; Evo8 5.0; NSX 5.0; 4200GT 5.0; 456GT 5.0; Vanq 5.4; 355B 5.6; 360S 5.8; 550M 6.1; Z06 6.6; Murci 6.8; 360M 7.2; F50 8.5; |

Go for the 360, a spider if you can. There is nothing like it. Get a Tubi exhaust. I personally love the looks of the 360, reminds me of the old 250LM. It is a showstopper everywhere, and it is an excellent track car as well. i too considered the 355 before geting the 360. No regrets, even with the price premium. It's just a blast to drive. Go for the 6 speed. I also have a 360 Challenge with the F1 shifter, but the 360 6 speed is more fun for daily driving. |

If anyone comes across a low mileage red 355, or 360 (any color) with racing seats, please let me know |

Yesterday I passed a yellow 355 and from across the interstate I thought what a beautiful car!! You have a very difficult decision to make. It might come down to the actual deal at the time. For my opinion, you can't go wrong. However if your choice is the 360, Tubi is a must!! |

I would look at the F355, only because I don't see them depreciating as low in a years time.. In other words, for what you may pay for a 355 and a 360 now, you may have a bigger lose with a 360 when it's time to sell.. Just my thinking.

Whichever car you buy you really cannot go wrong in the looks and performance dept. As someone said looks, sound etc are subjective. If depreciation is a factor, i would say that you would lose less if you bought a 355 vs the 360. It's just economics. From you description i would go for the 355. Good luck whatever you decide. |

Pretty funny, John. Would suspect that, bummed as he likely was, Rubens still would've had a chuckle at that. A polite one, minimally. Perhaps humor didn't translate? |

If the rumors regarding the replacement of the 360 are true i.e. there will not be a styling change and only engine/interior upgrades, I do not believe the 360 will depreciate as much some predict it will. If you can afford it go for the 360. |

Wm Hart: Maybe its from reading FORZA? I'm the producer of the New Orleans event, which appeared in #27, #36, and #44. Forza also repeated a story about me making a jackass out of myself while speaking with Rubeuns Baricello after the Indy race in '01. My buddy Franco Valobra and I were sharing a limo with him to the airstrip after the race in '01 when Rubeuns lost his engine while leading. He was very upset, so I turned to him and jokingly said, dont worry man, Franco just lost the engine in his new ferrari last week (which he had in a new 360). The joke didnt go over well.

John I've had both, the 355 sounds cooler and gets just as many looks as the 360. I love my 360, it's more fun to drive. If you don't care about it being a spider you might want to consider the 550. If you like the way the 355 looks and would rather spend less money, then get the 355, it's not that much slower and it's way faster than the 348. If you shop it around, you'll loose less than on the 360...Good luck. post pics. |

355s are far more than "improved" 348s. They are truly wonderful cars, with a soulful quality hard to replicate in the 360. (The 360 is a far better car than the 355, I'm just saying not quite as soulful!) 355s run great, (particularly 95s), sound great, and I don't think they're gonna take the hit on miles that a 360 would take if you put 15K miles on it! Good luck, you've got a great choice to make!! |

i think the 360 is a far better car in every regard except sound and maybe looks. but if you only plan to keep it for a little over a year get whatever you like. having had both cars i would say it's worth spending the extra 40-50K to get the 360. maybe |

Like you I am on The List. I have a 2001 360 6 speed that I purchased from a Ferrari Dealership (Jan 2002). Being a business man I dont understand what defines The List. Do all people who purchase a used (293 mile) Ferrari have rights to be on The List? I love my 360 and looked seriously at the 355. Economically the 355 should depreciate less than the 360 due to age but Im not an expert. When I found out about The List, I told my salesman I wanted on The List. Im supposedly on The List for an early replacement of the 360, but does my position on The List depend on whether they get my 2500 mile car that has never been wet (washing not included) or hit? The 360 can be made to sound much better with the Tubi. I understand that the 355 sound great with the OEM exhaust system. |

John: Although the 355 may be more fully depreciated than the 360 right now, the mileage you are talking about (and, believe me, i put miles on mine so i am not discouraging you) will cause you to take a hit no matter which car you buy. I'm sure somebody can do more refined projections with the numbers, and as to performance, each one is significantly better than the one that came before it. (The other thing you might have to factor is the extent to which you might have to put real money into either car at some point). Sounds like you favor the 355. Why not? (And by the way, your name sounds familiar to me, but i am not sure why. Do you know?) |

the 355 held up fairly well during the first year or two of 360 production. i don't see any reason why the 360 won't hold up fairly well during the first year or two of its replacement's production. my two pennies. doody |

Right now, the car to get is the 550. I think its about done depreciating, you can pick them up for less then a used 360 and is definetly a great daily driver considering you take care of them. If you want the V8 the 360 is a better car. Ascetically, I prefer the 355 but looks are subjective. I don't think I could warren spending the extra 40-50k on the car merely for the performance. If you are just worried about the performance, get a ZO6 and a 348 . |

I am considering the purchase of another Ferrari. I'm stuck. Here is my situation. I am (hopefully on a "list" for the 360 replacement) whatever that means. In the meantime I want another Ferrari. My considerations: I want to use it as a daily driver, and will put about 10-15k miles on it in a year and 1/2, and dont want to have my ass handed to me in depreciation. I like the looks and sound of the 355 better (I like the looks MUCH better). I also would rather spend 90K or so rather than 130+. However, I like the performance of the 360 better. (and I'm reluctant to spend double the price of a 348 for a 355 and merely get an "improved 348") Those of you who have owned both 355 and 360. Do you think in my situation I should spend the extra 40-50k and get a 360? Also, if I spend say 135k on a 360, and drive it for 15k miles, would I loose more or less than spending 90K on a 355 and driving it the same distance. Advice? |
