DAve-Which dealer took your deposit? Like you , I would give my Dealer a deposit and yes sight unseen. Just look at the 355 and then the 360. The new car will continue to keep up with technology so it will be a home run again. Good Luck and enjoy the wait and keep all of us that are on "THE LIST" current with your progress!! |

I believe each dealer has different policies regarding deposits and wait lists. Locally, I got on the list (with a deposit) for a 360 replacement 6 months ago. The 360's were long sold out. I did buy a 308 from this dealer 7 years ago, so I don't think I have any influence because of that. Dealers do have geographical territories and they cannot sell cars outside of it, so you can't call around the country to find the shortest list. However, I assume areas like so. Cal or so. Florida where there are multiple dealers, buyers may have a choice. I had a long discussion with the sales manager whom I have known a number of years and got the following info. Every month, FNA requires dealers to file a form showing how many orders they have for various models. (F1 and 6 speeds are treated as separate models). I asked if people who would get a tail end 360 decide they would rather have the replacement would be rolled over. They could be, but they go to the end of the list instead of front. He told me they used to do favors for some customers, but stopped because then people would just flip the cars and not offer them back to the dealer. There is no requirement that I sell back to them, but they do expect that I would give them an opportunity to buy if I sell. I think this is perfectly reasonable. He showed me the number of orders they had for various models at the time and their current allocation rate so I could figure about when I should get a car (it's a long wait!) Also, I can check anytime on my placement. Seems pretty wierd putting a deposit on a car that I know nothing about except the price will be more than 100K! Dave |

I am on a "list" for the 360 replacement, but all I'm told is that after the "very best" customers (perhaps 4 in this case) get cars, I will get mine. No deposit asked for, and none accepted; my previous history with the dealer suffices for now. |

I am on the "list" for the 360 replacement where I bought my 360 Spider. Dealer said too early for a deposit and "not to worry". We will see although they have been very straight with me in the past. |

The List is a waiting list at your specific dealership. Every dealer gets certain allocations If he gets 10 cars per year and you are 36 on his list you will have to wait 3 and a half years till you get your allocated car. Usually larger dealers (Shelton) get more cars than the smaller dealers (which is an oximoron in itself) You can see if you can get on a list at a different dealer and they may have less people waiting thus you move faster up in the list. There is no FNA list for regular models. Not even for the ENZO. All of that is done by how many cars each dealer is allocated and who they pick in the VIP circle. I believe though that FNA can overrule certain entries for ENZO allocations. Waiting is part of the Ferrari excitement! Did I spell allocation right??? |

You bring up one of life's mysteries. You buy a used Ferrari from a Ferrari Dealership and it gives you the right to go onto "The List". I've been told that the list is time sensitive being when you were put on the list(April 2002 in my case). What about the other people who don't get 360's- do they go onto the list before me. I am on "The List " for a 360 replacement but I have not been able to tell exactly what it means. I have not been asked for a deposit nor had my dealer even hinted about one. I'd love to hear other's experiences!! It makes sense to always be on "The List"!! |

Does anybody know if ferrari dealers has started to accecpt deposit for the 360 Replacement(420 Modena)??? If not, will the people on the 360 waiting list have a choice between 360 and 420?(or maybe the 360 Stradale?) or automatically move to 420 by the time 360 is discontinued? I've spoke to my local dealer and they said Ferrari will no longer accept new orders for 360, and they will not accept deposit for 360 replacement at this time. Even if they do accept, Ferrari owners will have the priority to go infront of non-ferrari owners. Is it true???
