Brian,
I am sure that you are one of the first.
What is your VIN??
There are some spiders 348s I have seen with 995xx VINs. I actually have 99505 for sale.

If your car was already registered in 11/94 it was produced probably in 8/94 which means it is a 1995 model (some wacked logic the americans have) In Europe the first date of registration counts. If you have a 348 Spdier produced 1994 and you do not register till 2000, your car will be a 2000 348 Spider.

Yes it was registered 11/94 here in the UK. Just means that it took a few months for them to be imported into US.

No real surprise really

This reference:

http://www.modena-motors.com/tubi_style_exhaust_product_list%20BX.htm

only shows 1 version 355 Tubi muffler (but that's not necessarily conclusive). How does the 355 Tubi muffler picture in the link compare to what you've got Jeff?

if anyone posts a picture of a US rear with the assembly points I can look at my EURO and tell you if it is different.

The 348s were different for the EURO and even for the JAPAN cars and AUSTRALIA cars etc.
Reason they all had different mufflers.

I don't know what the deal is here but I have Ferrari of Washington telling me that it absolutely is different than a US Tubi and that it will not fit my car and one guy at Tubi says there is no difference and anoter says he thinks they are different. All I know is that unless these mechanics just do not know what they are doing, they must be different.Anyone know for sure?

From what I understand, 355 Berlinettas were being produced in 1994 alongside the last of the 348 Spiders. In 1995 they switched over to making only 355s, Bs and Spiders. The same was true about 355 Spiders being produced alongside 360 Modena coupes in 1999.

Does also raise some interesting questions as to did they built 355Bs first alongside the last orders for 348s. Was the B first built for a few months and then the Spider came along when they shifted to the 355 completely.

I am just a very curious person thats all.

I understand that 1994, remember we laso had a 1990 328GTS here from England.

Brian,
post the last of your VIN please. I am just curious. Youc an also e-mail private.

Let me clear this, I do know how this is coming about. The reason I am asking is your car must have been one of the very first off the line on the 355s. Would like to see the VIN just to see where the first 355 beginings were.

Come on Martin, after 4100 posts, you still don't know that the model years differ across the pond? :-)

...a 1994 355 ????

When was your car built? Means when the car was registered??? 12/1994, meaning a 1995 model???

I am confused!

The Ferrari dealer tells me the brackets are in different areas on the Euro. Definately make sure it is a US version or it will not fit. Make sure you trust the seller and tell them upfront it needs to be a US version.

I have a US 355 and am looking for a Tubi, are there different models for a 355?. I've seen them on Ebay, how do you know if it will fit a US car.

Just took my car in to have a Tubi installed that I bought through the internet and find out that it is a "Euro" version and does not have the same mounting brackets that a US version has.The guy I bought it from seems to be reluctant to take it back now so I thought I would see if anyone here is looking for one. I paid 1750.00 and would like to get what I have in it.It looks to be in great shape.
