I agree Doc.

Not owning a Daytona I have no comparison but the FI system on a Boxer is very pricy.

I own both, and the troubles that my Boxer has had just sitting there, requiring a rather extensive FI component rebuilding and replacement says Boxers are more expensive. I have two Daytonas, they are older, easier to work on, no FI and no rubber cam belts. I vote buy a Daytona and spend less.

They are both expensive. But since the cars you are considering at pricy to begin with...what does it matter at this point?

From a maintenance stand point the boxer will cost more. If you damage a part on the daytona it can cost more. but routine maintenance wil be less.

Be sure you carry whatever you get to JRV for service/repairs as once he lays hands on it you are assured that nothing will EVER go wrong. NOT !

Depends on the car.

overall they are simular in terms of design and systems and degree of skill needed to ensure a nice job that builds back in the reliability.

The older cars with the belts might edge out chain cars on cost of long term service. But it's likely the costs would be close as Daytonas are older.

Which car, the 365 GTB Daytona or the 512 Boxer, cost more to maintain? Which takes more time to maintain?
