Thanks for the advice. I had lost some weight and started exercising a couple of months ago. I think that's what saved me. Since I still some what restriced on what I can do, I'm going on a cruise tomorrow. When I get back I should be as good as new(I hope). Thanks __Ron

We are all living on borrowed time. Living to the max is the only way. Thanks for the reminder. Good driving.

Ron, it's great that you are doing well. Bad news is: the 328 will give you extreme heart palpitations as the redline increases. I bought my 1987 328 GTS with 9,000 miles on it last year. So far I've put about 4,000 more in one year, (I live in Ct.). Have had major service done and new tires, Tubi's, etc., not that it needed it but what the hell. Good luck, Tim Guay

Dan - I'm happy to report that the 'B' just turned over 1K miles today (aren't you proud of me!!). Heck, considering the first twelve years only covered 300 miles, I'm driving the wheels off this thing!! Hope all is well. Stephen

Jim S- Enteric coated aspirin is fine for chronic use, esp if you have stomach problems. We use non- enteric coated during an acute myocardial infarction (heart attack).

Ron- glad you are making good progress. Death is the first symptom of heart disease in 1/3 of patients, so you are one of the lucky 2/3s. Once discovered and treated you should have a long time to drive that 328! At a minimum you should be on aspirin, Ace-inhibitor, a statin if your LDL is > 100, and a beta-blocker if you have reduced heart function (low ejection fraction). Listen to your doctor, EXERCISE, dont smoke if you do now, eat right and above all enjoy life.

EFWUN - why non-enteric coated aspirin? I take enteric coated.

Ron
Best Wishes! Living every day as if it's your last is good advive. I know many people who've gone through bypasses and are just fine!
Des
Stop smoking, eat well and get some exercise. You'll never fit into any of my racecars unless you do and even if you could I'd worry about your heart.
Best

Ron,
My parents died at ages 42 and 50. Now at 52, I figure I'm already in plus territory. Your admonition is well taken and I would reiterate it with emphasis.

Good luck,
Dave

Ron, your words resonate with me! I'm way over my head with my 550, but as I tell my wife, I'm having dessert first!!
All the best for a speedy recovery; (take 325mg of non-enteric ASA daily, even if they put you on Plavex). You'll do well; my dad had a quadruple ten years ago, and he played 36 holes today!!

When I was trying to keep my mileage low, a friend asked me if I was trying to preserve the car for the next owner!! Good luck Ron. Get out and drive the Sh** out of it. Even F-cars depreciate in value over time so enjoy!! Don.

Just think how lucky you are, Ron! You had the type of problem that commonly sneaks up and kills you. Your's was discovered and fixed before that happened. Now you'll be able to enjoy that car for many years to come. Good luck with a speedy recovery!

Less than three weeks after fulfilling a life long goal of purchasing a Ferrari (a 1986 328 GTS) I had emergency by-pass surgery. I have only driven my car twice since I bought it. I should be able to drive in a month or so and am very much looking forward to doing so. To those of you do not drive you cars just to keep the mileage low, I say get out there and enjoy your cars. You never know how much time you have to do the things you love.
