In my view, 355 prices are bouncing back.

The 360 market that was saturated just 90 days ago has completely turned around. Just try finding a US 360 at a decent price. Currently demand is quite strong and supplies are tight.

It seems the 355 prices are following suit, and in my opinion, could be the last of the "real" Ferraris where spirited driving challenges the drivers, whereas, the 360 is a very easy and refined car to drive.

355 prices have certainly leveled off, and firmly believe the great depreciation the market experienced has ended.

If it is like anything I have ever sold on Ebay, it probably was bid up and never sold. I have had so many people flake out on winning bids. I would not put much stock in what you see on Ebay unless you know the real story. Not that many F cars ever sell there.

The car sold for $89,100.

Seems an AZ buyer could have checked it out prior to the end of the auction. If it were the real deal, this is quite a steal.

But if the winning bidder did not inspect the car, I hope he does not get the treatment Modman got.

Erick, I must warn you that this company is out to rob your money, in fact I lost my 5k deposit. A long story but they sure don't deliver the car as promised, after over 3 months they could not find the right car at the price I wanted to spend and they refused to give back my deposit. They sell cars as if they seen the actual car and try to tell you how perfect they are. They are a bunch of guys in a office selling private party cars off the net. If you see a car you are interested in, get a hold of the owner and see the car for yourself. They tried to work with me by having to look at another car and when I flew out to take a look at it, it was a piece of , of all cars a 355 spyder which had 2 tone red spray can paint job on the lower part of the car, a pile of .. They pretty much have a bad reputation of taking peoples deposit at first and if you don't buy their unseen car you can kiss your deposit goodbye.. They wouldn't return any of my calls and messages for months. Those bastards burnt me with no remorse. They know if you are out of state you can't do anything about it since it would cost you more time and money to take them to court, I even talked to an attorney in Florida and they won't even deal with small claims. One even said it is not worth the time if it's under 50 grand. Oh well, a lesson learned and a hard one.

If you're getting more than 10K miles out of a set of tires you're not enjoying your car enough.

Ken, your brother in law is doing wonderful to get 10K out of the tires on an NSX. My buddy is an NSX fanatic and he has never gotten more than 5K miles out of a set.

I think Martin is right on the 355 prices. Most people who wanted a 360 are getting them now and the prices of the older model are coming down.

ross - my understanding is that NA accounts for only 25% of Ferrari's production. supply-limited, not demand-limited.

does anybody have a definitive number?

doody.

the prices are falling for the usual reasons, as the new model comes out it displaces from the top down. also need to look at production figures. apart from the venerable 308/328 range, this last 348/355 range had the biggest production run. 8654 examples of the 348 range, and 11206 of the 355 range. these are worldwide figures, and you can assume roughly half of the run went to the states. thats a lot of cars !!

The NSX gets terrible mileage from tires, the factory runs a huge amount of toe front and rear to get the impressive skid pan G's. As told me by an engineer from Honda USA.

i predict that IF it sells, it'll go for right around $100K. the F1 bumps it a bit, but the mileage will detract a bit. i say "IF" because most of the 355s on EBay over the past few months seem to be getting relisted over and over again - people don't seem to be getting their prices.

my two pennies. remember that my opinion is worth every single cent you paid for it :-)

doody!

well the F355 is a berlinetta so thats a big reason why. Also at the end of the auction everyones max offer will be compared to see who bidded alittle more..so it will probably get like 110k

My Brother In law's NSX gets only about 10k miles out of the tires due to the extreme camber from the factory. What is the expected tire mileage on a 355?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1818474082

This '98 F1 with average miles is at $80k on a no reserve auction with 35 hours to go. This was a $130k car just 7 months ago...
