Enjoy the Drive,

Paul and Steven (cool name by the way :-) ),

Will keep the photos coming as she develops. As for the emblems, mine were so over polished i went by whatever resources i had. ALL emblems were sourced from official Ferrari parts places BUT the 308 emblem that i personally hand painted. The 308 emblem seems to be made from Verell's Unobtainium.

As for the Print Screen... i use that, then bring it into Photoshop and have at it :-)

PS: only drove 25 miles today. Too much high-rate crosswinds in this mountain area to do much more "fun". Need to wait for less wind :-(

...like tomorrow when i pick up one of my gals from the airport. She's flying in from Miami just to see me for a few days :-)

Enjoy the Drive,

Steven R. Rochlin

Steve,

Siete benvenuti !(you are welcome!) or is it "Prego" !! ??

Steven,

Keep the pictures coming! - On the new emblems, does the white paint look a bit thin in places?
I bought a new one for my 348 after looking at the one that was on the car. When it arrived, it was the same!

Steve,

I use the "Print Screen" Button on the keyboard - it takes a snapshot of whatever is on the screen and puts it on the clipboard. Then you can past it to a new image with your favourite picture editing software - or paintbrush come to that!

Steve R. -- This isn't on the topic of the thread, but can you please tell me how you made that partial Isoview drawing from the FerrariUK site into a jpeg for posting? TIA.

Jerry,

i believe The Don is correct that the older models did not have them. Odds are they can be sourced from Ferrari UK from the www.owners.ferrari.com website though not sure how they attach and if they are compatible with older models. Have not gotten to refurbishing that part of the car at this time. Gimme a second to upload specs from their website for parts #... ok, loading data now...

61115600 REAR BUMPER RUBBER RH
Unit price: 49.20
Quantity required: 1

61115700 REAR BUMPER RUBBER LH
Unit price: 75.50
Quantity required: 1

NOTE: it seems you will also require for installation:

61115800 METAL INSERT RH
Unit price: 9.30
Quantity required: 1

[40] #61115900 METAL INSERT LH
Unit price: 12.20

All work and no driving make Steve a dull boy... which explains why i drive a lot :-) As ALWAYS...

Enjoy the Drive,

Steve,
Do you know if the '79 308 is supposed to have the black bumper trim pieces shown in your photos that extends about 18" from the sides and terminates under the "q" of quattro valvole on your bottom photo? If so where can they be had? Mine does not have them. Thanks, Jerry.

and now some photos... Various lighting/settings. Hope you enjoy. Not too shabby for a 18 year old car with over 52,000 miles as a daily driver :-)

John,

Raining/sleet outside now and completed Phase 1 yesterday (it was raining outside, so no pics). Will take pics the next good day and post accordingly. She is really coming along nicely IMHO. Can't wait for the new interior :-)

Enjoy the Drive,

Steven R. Rochlin

PS: the car IS NOT a garage queen, have driven her nearly a few thousand miles in the past 3 months and she is my daily driver :-)

Dr T and Jeff,

Dr T, many thanks and it is GREAT to have so many wonderfully enthusiastic and helpful people all on one chat board.

Jeff, thank YOU for such wonderful mechanicals and a GREAT base car to work on. Phase 2 involves taking off and thoroughly cleaning ALL locking mechanisms (both doors, both trunk, and front hood). Should be fairly straightforward.

...another phase will be in the winter where completely new leather/carpet interior is installed by professionals.

Enjoy the Drive,

Steven R. Rochlin

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to take a moment to thank many of you (and parts dealers as well) for all their help. While the engine was finely detailed and main headlights changed over to Xenon by pervious owner Jeff Edison, have been very busy over the past few months updating/cleaning/restoring other bits. The 1985 308GTS QV now has all new emblems, new lights/housings, and many other bits have been replaced for new parts or restored though painstaking work.

The tips and help through the Archives here or from various recent discussions have been of great help. Please allow me a moment to truly thank everyone here and the MANY parts vendors (too many to list here). Phase 1 of restoration is now complete. As always...

Enjoy the Drive,

Steven R. Rochlin
