Golf bag, not a big deal Just take a driver and few irons. Vernon, yeah be careful on the front bumoer lip, very low, very sticking out. Just stop when you get closer to park head in. Departure angle is pretty low. My favorite is parked on the side of the road with few inches from the curb. Definitely a reliable car and more comfortable than a 360. Who give a damn about the sun roof?? |

Vernon, the 550 is definitely "reliable" enough for an everyday car. Just need to be mindful of where the nose is when parking. Don't know about the golf clubs, but doubt it. No sunroofs - ever. but agree with Doody - you don't need it. Prices are all over the place, but $150 - 175 should put you in a great 2001 (last year of production). Hopes this helps, and see you on May 10th. Also, if you want to drive mine ('01 model) feel free to email me direct. Now that the weather is nice, I'm happy to let you pounce on it anytime you'd like. |

i do not believe that sunroofs were or are an available factory option. any maranello with a sunroof must have had it done aftermarket. i for one LOVE the fact that it doesn't have a sunroof. i so rarely used it in my 996TT (which i traded on the 550); they always freakin' rattle at some point (every car i've owned with one); and they suck up usable headroom (especially if you ever intend to wear a helmet in the car). 550 prices seem to be varying widely from a high of probably $160K for a barely-used, late model to a low of $120K or so for desirable earlier models. i imagine a really eager hunter could probably do even better than that - the prices are all over the place. there are a number of 550 pricing threads - search the archives (let's not start yet another one, gents!). doody. |

Regarding golf clubs. Yesterday, I hit the driving range with Dr Shelbee and Dave, another local FCA member. While my golf bag (light carry type with full set of clubs, golf shoes, etc.) fit perfectly behind the seats of my 360 with room for another bag on top of it, I couldn't get it to fit into Dr. Shelbee's 550 (Dr. Shelbee didn't bring golf clubs). The Dr's 550 has a trunk mounted cd changer which prevented the bag from going into the space in front of the driver's side tail lamps. Even without the cd changer, I think it would be difficult to fit a full golf bag given the shape of the 550 trunk. We didn't try but it might fit on the rear shelf though (at an angle). Kinda disappointing given the more conventional configuration of the 550. |

For all of the 550 Owners out there a few questions. I am considering a purchase of a 550 for an every day car. Are the "reliable' enough for everyday? Is ther room inthe trunk for golfclubs? Do any of them have sun roofs? What is the price range in today's market? Thanks in advance |
