Upper and lower (shifter) center console pieces will probably run $500-$600 for the pair. Ashtray and cover may or may not be included with the other two pieces, depending on demand and a few technical considerations.

348/355 door sills should run $350 - $400 per pair. The price will be finalized soon.

GruppeM also has many carbon fiber pieces for the F355-- console, door panels, rear defuser. Their carbon fiber work is fantastic. I bought their intake and it is a work of art. Website is
gruppemeurope.com. Look under "special" on their webiste.

Thanks Modman & Rob...

I was looking for a "sheet" ready to be cut.
Came up with Carbontrix in CA. They sell a 4 X 3 sheet for $200. I'm good to go. Thanks

Sorry so late in getting back guys.
I removed my interior and sent it to the owner of a carbon fiber factory in Canada. He is planning on reproducing the pieces below in high gloss clear coated carbon fiber. I believe he can do different types of carbon fiber depending on the order. I know he has the pieces in the works now. I'm expecting to hear from him any day about the first prototypes. As far as pricing? I really don't know, but I do believe he is planning on competitive pricing with original replacements.
Here's a pic of my parts he plans to reproduce:

These links are just from my favorites list, no web search, so Frank, I don't know what you missed?

Also, EG Composites in Indianapolis; Motorsport Composits north of Milwaukee in Grafton (262-375-1930).

In my library I have:
A Practical Guide to Composites, 1995, by Multisport Composites, Inc., Unit 2, 8 Kirkhall Lane, Bolton, Lancashire, BL1 4AT

Successful Composite Techniques by Keith Noakes, 1989, Osprey Publishing Limited, London.

Advanced Composites by Jeppeson Sanderson Training Products, 1990, Englewood, Colorado.

Composite Construction by Jack Lambie, 1984, available through Motorbooks International, Ocseola, Wisconsin.

Have fun! I love this stuff too. Start with the pre-preg for door sills and not-too-complex dash parts, saves time and improves quality for a novice (my $0.02).

Best regards,

Rob

For you fabricators out there what are the estimated costs for complete sets? I just took out my fugly ass rubber coated stuff this weekend and am in the process of refinishing it, but if the price is right I might just have to pick up parts from you.

My company is working with Byron on the sills and various other parts for the 348 (like center console and spoiler lip), and we're working with other Ferrari Chat members on other parts for this and other models. The quality of these parts will be unsurpassed by any manufacturer, and the prices will almost certainly be lower as well, as we are located in the United States.

Jeff, I suppose that we'll be competing with your fabricator. Are they clear-coating their parts, or are they going to sell "raw" carbon parts, i.e. straight from the mold?

Our carbon fiber parts are (urethane) clear coated for excellent durability and a smooth, pit free, and high-gloss surface. Most incorporate kevlar in high-stress areas. All are made with the finest carbon fibers and epoxy resin systems available.

Stay tuned for developments over the next couple of weeks...

The carbon fiber upgrade for the Ferrari 348 should be available soon. My car was used as the subject of the molds. The interior upgrade will include 24 different pieces, of which the sill molds are included. Customers will be able to buy one piece, or all, or any combination. Stay tuned to F-Chat for details.

Modman... that's awesome. It's nice when you hear someone out there doing some good 'ol fashioned fabricatin'... esp with carbon fiber! I'm actually in the process of working with someone to create various CF parts for my 348 challenge to match my Carbon Fiber daytona seats... I'd sure love to see how those lights turned out for your diablo!

You can make the door sills yourself, it's easy and can be done with $60 in materials for both sides. I started to do more things with carbon fiber but the only thing you will just need is the patience and practice but afterwards it's relatively easy, Kevlar on the otherhand is not easy to work with. I just finished molding carbon fiber tail lights for my Diablo and it's finished in high gloss. If I still had my 348 the whole dash and console would have been recreated in carbon fiber and better yet colored carbon kevlar to match the cars paint, now that's something you don't see often. Fabrication is fun and that's what I love doing.

I have a set of carbon fibre door sills for my F348 Spyder. They are from hgparts. They fit perfect and look so cool. Actually the stock metal door sills weigh a lot. They car looks great. The F348 GTC has kelvar sills which cost 500.00 uk sterling per side from Ferrari UK. Mine
looks like the F348 GTC

Mark,
I'm working with someone right now to get these fabricated for 348/355's and will probably be able to offer them for less than the asking price on HGParts... If you can wait a few weeks, I'll have some a better idea on pricing.

B.

I saw some for $ 500 a set but can not justify them as of yet. Although my sills always get worn.

That reminds me I had send a check to somebody for sills and never received them...here from F-Chat.

I'm replacing the sill panels on my 355, Hgparts sell carbon fiber panels. Has anyone installed these, if so how do they fit, look, wear, etc.
