the best music to drive with is something that gets you fired up. on track days last year in my 355, i had metallica blaring and loved every minute of it.

The Thomas dolby track was about a 64 GTO (arguably a better choice could not be made!)

The complete lyrics are at: http://www.thomasdolby.com/reference/lyrics_aliens.html#ferrari

You'll note that Tillman wisely chose to not include the more dirty elements of car lust in the post below....

Hi Chatters!

I've got an F355 spider in London.

I agree the La Passione CD is great and worth getting.

I've seen the 355 'Hamlet' video on this site which is produced in MPEG format. Sorry to be technical!

Two questions:
Anyone know how to convert the video from MPEG into MPEG-4 (MP4) format and are there any other Ferrari related downloads in MPEG-4??

I want to download it into my phone which supports MPEG-4....sad I know.
Thanks
Simon

I have a copy of the movie.
"Never steal Anything Small" was considered a "racy" (no, not Auto Racing) movie back in 1958. It stars Cagney and Shirley Jones. The plot is Cagney is a no-good who has stolen the stevedore union election. When he later needs a lawyer he lusts after the lawyers wife. He wants to set up the lawyer so there'll be gounds for a divorce. He asks a lady friend to seduce the lawyer in the office he's supplied to the lawyer. She doesn't like the idea and runs away he catches up to her and says, "If you'll do this for me, I'll do anything for you. (He turns and sees that they're outside a sportscar store) I'll buy you a car!" They enter the store and he says, "How about this green one? "I want that one!" "Hey, that's a Ferrari!" "I'll spring for an MG or a Jag, but $14,000". She bursts into song: "I don't want to nag, but it'll take more than a Jag for you to induce me to do what you want me to. I'm sorry, I want a Ferrari!" The song and dance routine goes on from there. In true 50's censureship fashion he never gets his way and, of course, there's a blatant moral.
This was my intro to Ferraris, at the age of ten.

This crowd is simply not old enough to appreciate the finer Ferrari music.

From Peter, Paul and Mary - Concert Album - 1964 (Which I saw twice in person - in 1964)

Car Car

"Take me for a ride in your car-car
Take me for a ride in your car-car
Take me for a ride, take me for a ride,
Take me for a ride in your 3.2 liter Ferrari
with torsion bar suspension
and those ported venturi carburetors! "

John, Joe Walsh's actual Maserati 5000 (s/n 103026) sold at Bonham's auction in Carmel last August. According to Sports Car Market's coverage of the sale: 'Formerly owned by musician Joe Walsh. Car's top speed is actually 175 mph, not the 185 mph he claims in "Life's Been Good."'

Admittedly "My Maserati does 185" rolls off the tongue much better than "My Maserati does 175."

I have been advised (and confirmed) that the song "I'm sorry, I want a Ferrari" comes from the 1959 James Cagney movie musical "Never Steal Anything Small", lyrics by Maxwell Anderson. Can anyone quote the lyrics?

Well, then there is one Maserati song I can think of by Joe Walsh - "Life's Been Good to Me So Far". Do you think his Maserati really went 185?

"La passione" by Chris Rea!

Definitely the best sound track for a Ferrari! Besides: A very nice Ferrari movie...

Not a bad song but I've always been annoyed at Geddy's mispronunciation of the word "barchetta."

My late Mother told me that she had seen a Fifties-ish movie where the starlet was singing, "Sorry, I want the Ferrari". I haven't been able to find any reference to it. Wonder if there is such a thing?

Mixalot (?) came into the Acura dealership where I used to work in his Diablo, and bought an NSX. Seemed to be a nice guy.

Thomas Dolby "The Key to Her Ferrari" from "Aliens Ate My Buick"

...I don't want your love
I don't want your money
I just want the key to your Ferrari
Don't want your bed
I don't want your body
I want the key to your Ferrari
I'm gonna rip it - shine it - rev it - scoot it - skid it -
jam it - rev it - skip it - gun it
Up and down the 101
Don't want your love
Don't want your money, girl
I said all I want is the key to your Ferrari...

Is there any music with a Ferrari theme? The only song I know of is "Red Barchetta" on RUSH "Moving Pictures" album. Story line: old Ferrari stored in uncle's barn in the future, after gasoline engines are outlawed. Uncle & nephue tear up the country side enjoying the engine pull and sound.
