I would have to agree with pretty much everything EFWUNN has said. My 97 Twin Turbo S has been a real joy to own and drive. It is wickedly fast. Feels lighter and more tossable than the 360. The sensation of speed during acceleration is more intense also. My only complaint......and it only occured since I got the 360 is that it does things so well without any fanfare........that its almost (dare I say)......boring!! This could be good and this could be bad. I love the way my Tubi equipped 360 explodes during hard driving.....almost violent in a way! Speed comes nearly as quickly as the TTS and with much more emotion and exhiliration..... Last year I almost traded the TTS in for a GT2, but the build quality and the emotions stirred just weren't there. If I just wanted to go fast, I suppose I could just get a 500hp 03'Viper.....however I need more feeling in my ride......thus the 360! |

Rob: I'm sorry, chrome wheels? Warren: The GT2 is special because it is (as I guess you know) rear wheel drive, and ~300lbs lighter. I'd imagine an entirely different animal than even the X-50 996 |

Off Topic Response: You know, I was looking at dupont recently, and it must suck to be a GT2 owner. I guess it is really easy to buy the GT2 body kit and with some of the engine / performance mods some of these guys are doing with their turbos, they're getting better performing vehicles than the much more expensive GT2. Kind of makes it not worth it. Don't get me wrong, I don't feel sorry for anyone who can afford a GT2, it just makes owning one tougher. |

Nope, heard they were similar, but stronger and roarty-er than the "regular" 993 Turbo. I think part of the feeling of the 993 was the snuggness of the cabin. I recently drove a client's 996 Turbo with a setup he says mimics the X-50. WOW. Smoked all four tires from a 20mph roll. Still, not as engaging a personality as the 993. |

Warren, my two cents worth: My 993 Turbo was much louder and generally much more visceral than the 996 Turbos I've driven. Smaller cockpit, smaller car, perhaps 150-200lbs lighter producing an overall racier, more intense experience. Despite virtually equal performance, the 993 FELT much faster. As for race car? They both need the coil-over RSR setup to work right. The rear kinematic arm on the 993 was VERY sensitive to proper setup too. Overall, the 993 had much more charm and the dreaded "personality!" |

Specifically, 360 Modena vs. '97 TT vs. '01-'03 TTs (if you've driven 'em). I heard the '96-'97 TTs were more like race cars and that the newer TTs were more civilian cars. True? |
