Notice the clear engine deck lid and the added struts under the A pillars.

Here is a link to a really nice (for a change) 512M Convertible for sale in Germany: http://www.autosalon-singen.de/Katalogfahrzeug_RecordView_DetailAll.cfm?fahrzeugID=01180_0113_01_08&languageID=GB

Much better, although I dont like the convertible top so much.

I like the lights and stock 512M rims alot, infact they are my fav. rims of any car. the no no for me is the non pop up lights....thats why I think the TR M in Singipore was the prettiest TR of all time...(check showroom - archieve Testarossa's)

Who would do that? A person with too much dinero and screwy priorities.

I wouldn't pay $50k for this ugly thing.

It was a shame when they turned the 512TR into that 512M. Round tailights on that car was a big no no. And those weird-looking factory wheels....

Maybe with a good set of cool aftermarket rims it MIGHT look better. Nah.

Kind of off topic response but I once heard a story about Tyson trading a brand new diablo a few years back for a white tiger. Who would do that? Maybe the tiger died and he wants to pay respect with that tattoo just a though.

"The owner wants a premium for it " LOL :-) thats hilarious, he should be arrested for that interior, check out the subwooferbox behind the seats, I suppose that helps performance ?

He'll be lucky if he sees $100k for it. I'd love to see the dope who drives around with that interior.

Tyson has an F40 ? He cant even drive a lawn tractor without crashing, whats he doing with an F40. He may be King of the Ring but give me a few laps with him on a track & I'll knock the Mutha out :-)

I would buy it and change the interior and the rims.. All the interior Ostrich crap would be changed into black leather.

I won't pay more than $100,000 for it..

Wow. Not only did they take the ugliest Testarossa and make it uglier, but they lost the strakes too. This thing actually looks like a kit car gone bad.

there were actually several testarossa and a f40 that tyson had customised that pretty hideous. this car is "classy" in comparison to those. if the price is right, i'd buy this car. however, i think the owner thinks it should demand a premium.

Wow and to think now the car won't go for anything close to what it sold for new. Would anyone here actually buy this car with this interior?

Erik,
Straman use to charge about $45,000 for the conversion..

Another company out there use to charge $25,000 on a TR targa.

What do you guys think it would have cost new to have that top conversion done? I agree the person that had the top and interior done couldn't be anyone but mike tyson or p. diddy.

I would never make a convertible out of a 512M..Out of 7177 models of the TR, that may be a different story. I just feel with only 75 of these U.S. versions, why do this..
The Ostrich interior has to go.. YOu can't even wear shorts.

Benn Correale at Shelton told me chopped TRs sell for $45k Less than standard, I'd take another $20k off for that vile interior

Ross, lets not forget the steering wheel and possibly dash.

How much does *it* (too ugly to be a she) normally get to at auction? Less or more than a normal F512M?

theres no accounting for bad taste. but this might lower the price enough to make it worthwhile taking and exchanging wheels and seats....

I remember that car too and couldn't believe they chopped a new 512M. It did look good, but I remember it having some funky wheels or something.

I was going through some old issues of the dupont registry and when I was flipping through the July 1997 issue on page 163 I came across a company called Eurotech which had an advertisement for custom convertible and shows a black 512m convertible. The pic is pretty bad and I searched the internet for another one but I couldn't find a copy. This picture was taken with my screwed up digital camara, but it is a 512m convertible.
