If any of you go to the GP at Montreal the Tifosi Club have a get together where they have a dinner and a few games and then go and drool over all the Ferrari's. I'll post more details nearer the time. |

Lee - i will never have forgotten that i joined...! Thanks, Barry... J. - If it's dry out, it should take me 30-45 minutes to get from Long Island to Montreal... (Ok, so maybe not that fast, but it shouldn't be long at all...) It would be cool to go there for a Formula 1 event as i've never been to one... |

Des, congratulations! The decal for your car window is cool and so is the quarterly magazine "Prancing Horse" You should make a trip up to Montreal for Formula 1. The whole city goes Ferrari crazy! They shut down the streets and have Police escorted Ferrari tours. The Northern Ferrari chapters of the FCA are very strongly supported. I'm doing the 4 hour drive from Toronto, should only take you about 6 to get to Montreal from NY right? |

In a few weeks, just when you'd forgotten about joining, you'll get a little brown, padded, hand-lettered envelope with a name tag, window sticker, and letter from the FCA. Around the same time you'll get your first issue of that black and white "magazine", which does have some nice articles about upkeep and events going on here and there. Again, nothing in this part of the world (but I think interest around here is growing! Watch out, Knoxville!) |

That's cool enough for me...! i was just wondering if you get like, a Ferrari-emblemed exploding pen that turns into a 355 get-away car or something... (Not that i need a get-away car, or anything... ) |

DES: Here you go: https://www.ferrariclubofamerica.org/pages/join.cfm If that doesn't open for whatever reason (it's a secure page), just go to www.ferrariclubofamerica.com and click on "The Club" at the top. The next screen invites you to join. Joining feels cool and I like the publication and the name tag but I tell ya', there ain't nothing going on around here (East Tennessee) with the FCA! I'm sure up there it would be well worth your while, though...events, parties, etc. Good luck! -Lee |

DES, now just join the FCA and you'll get "officially" invited! You'll even get a name tag! My experience is very similar to yours. I joined the club before ever imagining I would own a Ferrari. I had the same warm reception, people are all very nice. I go to all the events and wouldn't you know it...a year later I bought my car. Anything is possible. |

Don't worry, I bought a disposable one from the local 7-11 and managed to snap a few with DES. I will have those pics of DES posted shortly. P.S. - DES refused to pose with the ENZO...for fearing that he will spoil the picture. What a true fan! |

That's terrific, DES...thanks for sharing your first Ferrari event with us. Sounds like there's no turning back now...you're hooked ! Keep the Ferrari dream and passion alive, and you'll have one in your garage before you know it. |

Oh, by the way - just so it's official, that i'm a complete and major ass: This was my first ever official Ferrari event and i didn't bring a camera. The line forms to the left to punch me in the face... |

...ok, so it was actually a Ferrari event, but still, i spotted more Ferraris than my poor little brain could remember... It was incredible... Ferrari of Long Island had an unveiling type of event, to show anyone who showed, the new Ferrari Enzo (the same one i saw a few weeks ago) and to let people watch the race afterwards (the race didn't go so well)... John Li gave me a heads up about the event and i met him there - very nice guy, introduced me to different folks, answered any questions i had- even let me sit in his gorgeous 355...! He got in and started it, later and revved... When he was about to turn it off, i asked if he could rev it just a few more times... It was so funny, everyone backed away as if to let me hear it, all by myself... i just stood there as he feathered the gas with a firm foot... VROOM!, VROOOOOOM! it was sweet... There were so many more cars there than i had expected and i saw some cars i had never seen before, in my life...! There was a black F50 there - WHOOOOOOOOOOO...! i've never seen an F50 before, so it was a real intense experience... There were loads of 360s and 355s... Some very nice 308s and 328s... and then there were some rarer cars like a green 1967 Ferrari 275... There was a 1972 Maserati Ghibli there - the owner let me sit in it...! & for you, Nika, there was a Ferrari 365 GTB4 - but unfortunatey, it was red ... There was even a Fiat 500 there, which makes the mini cooper look like an SUV... A lot of very awesome cars and all the people were real nice... John, especially, for giving me the heads up about the event and for not letting me wallflower 'cause i didn't know anyone... i'm not a very social person, by nature, but after a few minutes with John, i felt at ease... All in all, it was a very awesome event... i also met Dave White, who used to post on here... He was a very nice gentleman, as well... Just in case, i want to say thank you to Ferrari of Long Island, for holding the event, complete with a buffet... i'm not sure if anyone over there reads this board, but i think it's cool that they hold things like this, so people like me can go and learn stuff and check out some really awesome cars and chat with some really awesome people... |
