John, I just put a Tubi on my '87 328 (euro version) which would probably be like yours. The Federal model has a different exhaust design, the Euro is a true "dual" exhaust. I was worried that the Tubi may be too much as well. This is not the case, it sounds beautiful all the way up, even at lower rpm's it has it's own noise. In the cockpit the decibles are not as intrusive at all. Best of all is that the car definately has more response, you can feel it! Tubi's are expensive but worth every penny. I live in Ct., U.S.A.. |

Last May I had a sports exhaust fitted to my 328 to make it sound more "like a Ferrari". And it worked! Unfortunately, it has now turned me into a bit of a hooligan, and instead of loud, I'm now yearning for **very** loud!! ;-) The Sunday before last I visited Manu, and his business partner Ajay, at Scuderia Systems (http://www.scuderiasystems.com) in Egham to "talk Tubi". It was a great visit: taking each of them for burns down the Egham bypass so they could access the sound of my current pipes, making videos of the car pulling away, and finally sitting outside their local pub in brilliant sunshine talking about Ferraris. Perfect! The best bit was dicovering that these guys are genuine enthusiasts and very professional. I had told Manu before my visit that my main wish was for louder sound so I could enjoy as good a soundtrack from the driver's seat that pedestrians are currently getting when the car passes them. Instead of going into a hard sell on Tubis, Manu pointed out that my current exhaust might already be as loud as a Tubi. I think he described it as "not subtle"(!) with nice pops and crackles on the over-run. Manu pointed out that the Tubi has a **much** better, high-pitched scream as you climb through the rev-range, but as my primary concern was extra volume, he advised that I hear one "in-the-flesh" before deciding if the extra money was worth it for me or not. Great advice, and very refreshing to hear. Anyway, can guess what my next question is?! :-) Are there any UK 328+Tubi owners in South-East England, who wouldn't mind giving me a quick demo so I can compare it with my current exhaust? Many thanks in advance :-). John |
